P. Pfeiffer, Mayor, with the following xmembers present: Commissioners Brown, Osbura, Stabs and Dunham, City Attorney C.Pitman, Supt. Arthur, and City Clerk Baker. Also present were Carlos Smith, Jim Holley and Police Chief Freeman. Minutes of the last regular and special meetings were read and approved. Carried. Mayor Pfeiffer asked that the bids on sewer disposal plant be opened. The bids were as follows: Couch Consti^~.iction Co. X41,624.00 Pasco Builders, Inc. 37,311.00 The Hays Filter Co. 49,500.00 Payne & Keller, Inc. 48,330.00 Harvy Newton Co. 47,076.00 Motion by Osborn, second by Brown, that all bids be turned over to engineer for tabulation. Carried. Motion by Stabs, second by Brown, that Ordinance No. 636, which was read in full, be adopted as read. The caption of such adopted ordinance reads as follows: AN OR DINANCE ESTABLISHING SPEED LIMITS ON NOR TH 10TH STREET FROM FOLK STREET NORTH TO THE CITY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF LA- PORTE (A PORTION OF STATE HIGHWAY N0. 146) WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS OF LA PORTE, TERAS, AND PROVIDING A PENALTY OF NOT MORE THAN X200.00 FOR EACH VIOLATION HEREOF Carried. Motion by Stabs, second by Osborn, that Wyatt Hedrick be authorized to caA- plete plans and specifications on new jail building. Carried. Motion by Brown, second by Stabs, that the City accept check in the amount of X75.00 from the Humble Oil & Refining Company for 3 holes at airport. Carried. • • Motion by Stabs, second by Osburn~ that the City request an additional 30 days to consider the rate increase from the Houston Natural Gas Corporation. Carried. Motion by Osburn, second by Brown, that additions]. e~enses in the amount of approxiaately X100.00 on lift station be authorized. Carried. Motion by Osburn, second by Stabs, that Supt. Arthur be au thorized to rent a bulldozer for one week. Carried. Motion by Osburn, second by Brown, that the me®ting adjourn. Carried.
