MINUTES - SPE CIAL MEETING
LA POR.TE CITY CONAZISSION - DECEMBER 30, 1961
9:00 A. M~
Special meeting of the City Commission was called to order by Mayor H. P.
Pfeiffer, with the following Corunissioners present: Stabs, Osburn~ Brown
and Dunhast, and City Attorney Pitman. and City Clerk Frank G. Baker.
Motion by Stabs, second by Brown, that Ordinance No. 634 after being duly
published as required by the City Charter, be finally passed and approved
with the following vote: AYES: Osborn, Brown, Donbas: and Staba; NOES:
None. The caption of such adopted ordinance reads as follows:
AN OR DINANCE ANNEXING THE HEREINAFTER DESCRIBED TERRITORY TO
THE CITY OF LA PORTS, TEXAS, AND EXTENDING THE BOUNDARY LIMITS
OF THE SAID CITY OF LA PORTS, TEXAS, SO AS TO INCLUDE SAID
HEREINAFTER DESCRIBED TERRITORY, GRANTING TO ALA INHABITANTS
AND OWNERS OF SAID PROPERTY ALL OF THE RIGHTS AND PRIVILEGES
OR OTHER CIT22ENS, BINDING SAID INHABITANTS BY ALL THE ACTS,
ORDINANCES, RESOLUTIONS AND REGULATIONS OF THE CITY OF LA PORTS,
TEXAS, RESERVING AND PRESERVING ALL RIGHTS, POWERS AND DUTIES
AS TO TERRITORY INCLUDED IN P RIOR ORDINANCES.
Carried.
Motioa by Osbur~,second by Brown, that Ordinance No. 637, be passed amd
approved by the following vote: AYES: OSBURN, BROWN, DUNHAM AND STABS;
NOES: None. The caption of such adopted ordinance No. 63?, amending
Ordinance No. 6 34, reads as follows:
AN ~.DINANCE FINALLY ANNEXING THE HEREINAFTER DESCRIBED TERRITORY
TO THE CITY OF LA PORTS, TEXAS, AND EXTENDING THE BOUNDARY LIMITS
OF THE SAID CITY OF LA PORTS, TEXAS, SO AS TO INCLUDE SAID HERE-
INAFTER DESCRIBED TERRITORY, GRANTING TO ALL TNHABITANT5 AND
OWNERS OF SAID PROPERTY ALL OF THE RIGHTS AND PRIVILEGES OF OTHER.
CITIZENS, BINDING SAID INHABIT ANTS HY ALL THE ACTS, ORDINANCES,
RESOLUTIONS, AND REGULATIONS OF THE QTY OF LA PORTS, ~'EXAS,
RESERVING AND PRESERVING ALL RIGHTS, POWERS AND DUTIES AS TO
TERRITORY INCLUDED IN PRIOR 0 RDINANCES.
Carried.
Motion by Stabs, second by Dunham, that the City take bids on police station
and fail., on the 19th day of January, 1962, at 7:00 P,M.
Carried.
Motion by Dunhaa:~ second by Osborn, that Ordinance No. 635, after_beibg du]tiy
published as required by the City Charter, be finally passed and approved
with the following vote: AYES: OSBURN~ SR,OWN, STABS AND DUNHAM~ N(~S:
