HomeMy WebLinkAbout1962-02-02 Regular Meeting7:00 P. M, Regular meeting of the City Commission was called to order by Mayor H. P, Pfeiffer,. with the following members present: Con~i.ssioners Dunham, Stabs, Osborn and Brown, City Attorney C.L. Pitmax, Supt. W,A.Arthur, and City Clerk Frank a. Baker. Also present were Russell Shepherd, Mr. Barr with Humble Co., Gayle Mc Nutt, with Hou-Port Airport, Tom Brown, and Carlos Smith. Minutes of the previous meetings were read and approved. Carried. Mr. Barr asked for permission to submit a bid on furnishing fuel and oil to the City for 1962-63 fiscal year. The Mayor and Coma~issioa asked Mr. Barr to present the bid at the next regular meeting. Mr. Shepherd asked that he be permitted to run a stripe down the ru~ray at air- port, also to place two signs on Spencer. Motion by Osborn, second by Dunham, that Mr. Shepherd be allowed to proceed with securing signs and arranging for the striping of ranway. Carried. Motion by Osborn, second by Stabs, that the account of M. N. Dannenbaum Company be paid. Carried. Motion by Osborn, second by Dunham, that Mr. Ernest Brown be paid $1,000.00 for services rendered on industry annexation. Carried. Motion by Dunham, second by Stabs, that Block 4, Bay Front, be advertised for bids as soon as all legal items pertaining to same are completed, ~ ni~,~ bid to be accepted, $7,500.00. Carried. Motion by Osborn, second by Dunham, that City Attorney be authorized to contact Mrs. Chambers and others and work out plans to move fence that is in State right-af-way ©n Highway 146. Carried. Motion by Stabs, second by Osburia, that A ttorney Pitxaaa proceed to procure approximately 5 acres from the Womack property, either by pur chase or by condemnatioxi. Carried. i Attorney Pitman was asked by the Mayor to draw or dinance pertaining to election in April. Motion by Osburn, second by Stabs, that the next regular meeting be moved up to February 15th. Carried. Motion by Stabs, second by Osborn, that the gross receipts check in the amount of X2,438.49, from Houston Natural Gas Corporation, be accepted. Carried. Motion by Stabs, second by Osborn, that T.E. Bolding taxi permit be renewed. Carried. Motion by Stabs, second by Osborn, that the meeting ad3ourn. Carried. ATTEST: J ~..-- _..____ Fr G.
