(w' ~._~ d~ `s "° I' `isa t~? ~' ,r C• j.~ c Regular meeting of the City Commission was called to order by Mayor H, P. Pfeiffer, with the following members present: Commissioners Stabs, Osborn and Brown, City Attorney C. L. Pitman, Assistant Supt. Dick Cunningham, and City Clerk Clovis D, Mann. Minutes of the last meeting were read an,d approved. A discussion was held regarding the sample aerial photo offered by Indus- trial Aerial Photos to the City for X50.00. Other photo maps were priced at X75.00 per square mile, and $10.00 for each additional square mile. After dis cos sion it was decided not to pur chase the map. City Attorney Pitman agreed to contact a governmental agency in regard to aerial photos. Mayor Pfeiffer instructed the Gity Clerk to determine the charge for paving of Brownell Street, and to invoice the charge to him personally, and immediately. Mayor Pfeiffer announced that the Zoning Board hearing on Block 1111, La Porte, would be held Monday, May 21st, at 7:00 P. M, Commissioner Stabs. made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Brown, that he be permitted to obtain bids on a six month basis, for prisoner meals, wash, grease and oil change of police cars, and for black-topping work behind the City jail, and that such bids received be presented at the next Commission meeting. Motion Carried. A committee from the La Porte Civic Club appeared before the Commission to dis cuss the possibility of obtaining help and support from tYie City gov a-nment in obtaining a larger library. Mayor Pfeiffer requested that the committee do fur they research to determine size needed, area to be located and other things that would be involved, Mr. George Norris appeared before the Commission to dis cuss the Zoning Or dinance as it pertained to his moving a house to Block 331. He was advised that the proposed location of the house was in Zone "B", which prohibited his moving the house in. Pir. :lrris stated he would find another location for his house. Commissioner Osborn made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Brown, that the pur chase of twenty-four water meters at a cost of ~ be ratified. Motion Carried. i~t .. ,,~ .. • Commissioner Osborn suggested that a point meeting of the Commissioners and department heads be held to dis cuss a proposed budget and the tax struc tore. He wa.s advised that the City Clerk was in the process of completing the budget work sheets, and that as soon as they were completed the City Clerk would dis cuss them with each Commissioner. The City Clerk was instructed to take necessa ry action to sell the parking meters that are in stock. The Commission was advised that approximately 102 meters were on hand. Dick Cunningham, Asst. Water Supt., was instructed to take necessary action to remove the parking meter posts. Commissioner Stabs advised that he wow.d check into the possibility of getting a battery for a gasoline motor used with the auxiliary light plant. City Clerk Mann was instructed to contact the Chairman of the Zoning Board for information as to the date of their next board meeting.
