Commissioner Osborn made a motion, seconded by RESOLUTION Commissioner Brown, that Resolution No. 6-62, be passed, auth- N0. 6-62 prizing the City of La Porte to borrow the sum of thirty thou- sand dollars ($ 30,000.00), to be evidenced by tax anticipation note parable out of currant taxes c©llected during the Fiscal Year beginnir~; July 1, 1962 and ending June 30, 1963. Mann City Clerk of the City of La Porte, Texas 12. -~ i ~ ~ _~ THE STATE OF TEXAS COUNTY OF HARRIS CITY OF LA PORTS 10th On this the nth day of August , 1962, the City Commission of the Gity of La Porte, Texas, convened in Re~ula~ Meeting, at the regu- lar meeting place, with the following members present, to-wit: Harold P Pfeiffer , 141ayor, Dennis Dunham ,: Odell Brown ,: W A Stabs ,; Commissioners, Clovis Mann , City Clerk, and with the following absent: ~--~:~;~,.,~- , constituting a quorum, at which time the following proceedings were had; Commissioner Stabs introduced an ordinance identified by the following caption: AN ORDINANCE GRANTING A FRANCHISE TO BAYSHORE INDUSTRIAL WATER COMPANY TO OWN AND OPERATE A WATER SYSTEM IN CERTAIN TERRITORY HEREINAFTER DESCRIBED, BOTH WITHIN THE CITY OF LA PORTS AND ADJOINING THE CITY OF LA PORTS; AND ORDAINING OTHER MATTERS RELATING TO THE SUBJECT. ~J The ordinance was read in fU11. Commissioner Stabs moved the passage of the ordinance on first reading, the motion was seconded by Commissioner ~~~ , voted upon and carried by the following vote: AYES: Commissioners Dusiham Stabs Brown and 0~ and Mayor Pfeiffer. NOES; None i La Forte City Commission La ~"ort a, Texas April 2b, 1962 Honorable Mayor and City Commissioners: In a special meeting of the La Forte Planning and Zoning Commission held ~iednseday night, April 25, a request was presented by John Kraak to re zone and re classify Block 1111 La Porte, from "C" Single Family Dwelling District to "E" Apartment Buildings, Duplexes and/or any other Multiple Dwelling Districts in order that he may construct an Apartment Hous® Pro joct, A motion to re zone and re classify Block 1111, La Porte, from "C" Sin le Family Dwelling District to "'L't Apartment Buildings, ?duplexes and~or any other Iultiple Dwelling District, and so recommend to the City Commission of the City cg' La Porte, was approved with no dissenting vote by members of the La Porte Planning and Zoning Commission. We urgently request that you give this matter your d~mmediate attention and look favorably on the project as ~Vir. Kraak and his architect, Jack Castles, has cooperated full~e commission on several suggested changes and specify that the building will be of brick veneer construction. The apartment house project proposed by Mr. Kraak is to encompass the entire block, fi® be built in the form of a square with an enclosed court yard, to be landscaped, with a centrally located swimming pool, The apartment project is to contain 64 units, four 3 bedroom units, twenty 2 bedroom units and forty 1 bedroom units, One bedroom units are to rent for X110.00 per months two bedroom units for X135.00 per month, and three bedroom units for X160.00 per month, He states that he plans to occupy one of the apartments himself and that others are being rented at this time, A motion :vas also approved by members of the commission t© recommend t}~at the City Commission r© zone and re classify the ~ ~ ~~ half of Blocks 29l~. and 305, and the west half of Block 31, on San Jacinto Street, from Single Family Dwelling Distriet~ to "B" Commercial or Local Retail District.
