Pfeiffer, Mayor; Odell Brown, Street Commissioner; W. A. Stabs, Jr., Police & Fire Commissioner; Tom Osburn, Water and Sewer Commissioner; Dennis Dunham, Health & Recreation Commissioner. MEMBERS OF COMMISSION ABSENT: None. OTHER CITY OFFICIALS PRESENT: Clovis D. Mann, City Clerk; Carlos Smith, City Engineer. PRESIDING: Mayor Harold Pfeiffer. 1. Commissioner Osburn made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Dunham, that the City of La Porte propose to the Municipal Utility District Board that the City would operate and maintain the Municipal Utility District for cost, plus ten (10) per cent, with details as to any limitation on ex- penditures to be mutually decided. Motion carried. PROPOSAL TO M.U.D. TO OPERATE !~Nn P~JATN- TAIN M.U.D. 2. Motion was made by Commissioner Stabs, seconded by Commissioner Osburn, that the City furnish fifteen thousand dollars ($ 15,000.00) toward the enlarging of a proposed sewer line extension of the Municipal IItility District; also that the City por- pose to buy water and sewer services at wholesale rate from the Municipal Utility District to serve areas outside the district. Motion carried. PROPOSAL TO M.U.D. TO SERV- ICE AREA 3. Commissioner Dunham made a motion, seconded by Commissioner St.~Abs, that Kiibler and Kiibler, law firm be employed to represent the City of La Porte AGREEMENT WITH in all matters except Corporation Court , Taxation and KIIBLER & KIIB- other internal operations. The firm to be employed LER TO REPRE- on a sixty (60) day basis, at the end of which time, SENT CITY the matter of further employment will be considered. The City will pay five hundred dollars ($ 500.00) per month as payment on fees due. Kiibler and Yiibler 4F~. will furnish a statement to 'the City showing the amount of fees due. Motion carried. 4. Resolution Noll-62, pertaining to the RESOLUTIONIl-62 proposed creation of an Industrial Zone was consid- ered. Commissioner Stabs made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Osburn, that Resolution No 11-~? be adapted. Motion carried. (Resolution No. 11-62 filed in Resolution Book.) 5. Resolution No. 12-62, pertaining to RESOLUTION 12-62 the construction of a ship channel was considered. Gommissioner Brown made a motion, seconded by Comm- issioner Osburn, that Resolution No. ]2 -62 be adapted. Motion carried. (Resolution filed in rte solution Book.)
