MEMBERS OF COMMISSION ABSENT: None OTHER CITY OFFICIALS PRESENT: Charles L. Pitman, City Attorney; Clovis D. Mann, City Clerk; Carlos Smith, City Engineer. PRESIDING: Mayor Harold Pfeiffer 1. Invocation was given by Reverend Tommy Austin, Minister of Bayshore Baptist Church. 2. Minutes of the Regular Meeting of January 4, 1963 and the Special Meeting of January 9, 1963 were read and approved. 3. Motion carried. • • 56. 5. Bids on installation of Heating Unit at the Northside Recreation Building were opened. The following bids were tabulated: Orand's Refrigeration Service $ 290.00 Youngs Plumbing & Heating Co. 396.00 L & M Thermal Co. 250.00 Commissioner Dunham made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Osborn, that the job be awarded to L & M Thermal Company. Motion was made by Commissioner Stabs, RENEWAL of TAxICAB seconded by Commissioner Dunham, that the application PERMIT FOR 9963 for renewal of Taxicab business, submitted by Mr. T. E. Bolding, be approved. Motion carried. 7. Commissioner Osborn made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Dunham, that all permits, i.e., Building, Plumbing, Electrical, and all others, be approved by City Inspector Dan Kennedy, as deputy City Clerk; that the application for such permits may be received by the office force and then referred to Dan Kennedy for his action. Motion carried. 8. Motion was made by Commissioner Brown, seconded by Commissioner Stabs, that the City of La Porte refund four hundred twenty-seven dollars and eighty-five cents (~ 42'].85) to John E. AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING REGULATORY MEASURES PERTAINING TO ELECTRICAL WORK IN THE CITY OF LA PORTE, CREATING AN ELECTRICAL BOARD; PROVIDING FOR THE APPOINTMENT OF THE MEMBERS; PROVIDING FOR THE ISSUANCE OF LICENSES TO MAS- TER ELECTRICIANS; PROVIDING FOR FEES, BONDS, THE KEEP- ING OF RECORDS, THE REVOCATION OF LICENSES; PROVIDING FOR AN APPEAL FROM ACTIONS OF THE ELECTRICAL BOARD; CREATING OFFICE OF CITY ELECTRICAL INSPECTOR AND PRO- VIDING THE DUTIES OF SAID OFFICER; PROVIDING FOR THE ISSUANCE OF PERMITS FOR ELECTRICAL WORK AND THE INSPEC- TION THEREOF; FIXING INSPECTION FEES; PROMULGATING RULES AND REGULATIONS TO GOVERN AND TO BE OBSERVED IN ALL ELECTRICAL WIRING, CONSTRUCTION, INSTALLATION, REPAIR, ALTERATIONS, OPERATING AND MAINTENANCE OF ELECTRICAL WIRING, APPARATUS AND RIXTURES; PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING A PENALTY OF NOT MORE THAN TWO HUNDRED AND NO/100 ('.~ 200.00) FOR VIOLATORS.
