Pfeiffer, Mayor; Odell L. Brown, Street Commis {over; W. A. Stabs, Jr., Police and Fire Commissioner; Tom Osburn, Water and Sewer Commissioner; Dennis C. Dunham, Health & Recreation Commissioner. MEMBERS OF COhBN/SS/ON ABSENT: None. OTNER CITY OFFICIALS PRESENT: Charles L. Pitman, City Attorney; Carlos Smith, City Engineer; (Clovis Mann, City Clerk absent due to emergency in family.) PRESIDING: Mayor Harold Pfeiffer. * . ~ lnvocafion was given by Reverend Pink A. Voss, Minister of the First Baptist Church of La Porte. 9. Commissioner Osburn made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Brown that Commissioner Dunham take minutes of the meeting in the absence of the City Clerk. Motion carried. 2. Minutes of the previous meeting of January 18, 9963 were read and approved. * * ~ 3. Motion was made by Commissioner Dunham, seconded by Commissioner Brown, that Mr. Mann, City Clerk, be autho- rized to obtain a loan from the La Porte State Bank in the amount of four thousand, seven hundred fifty dollars ($4,750.00) for purchase of Lots 9 though 19, Block 248, La Porte, at such time as the property is ready for transfer. Motion carried. 4. Commissioner Osburn made a motion which was seconded by Commissioner Stabs, that a Special Meeting be called for Friday, February 8th, to dtscuss Revenue and Budget expenditures. Motion was made by Commissioner Dunham, seconded by Commissioner Osburn, that Ordinance No. 665, "Garbage Ordinance" be passed. Motion carried. AN ORDINANCE DEFINING GARBAGE, TRASH, AND REGULATING THE KINGS AND SIZE OF RECEPTACLES IN WHICH TO PLACE SAME; THE MANNER OF ITS PREPARATION AND WHERE IT MUST BE PLACED TO 8E COLLECTED; PROVIDING REGULATIONS FOR COLLEC TING SAME; PROHIBITING THE PLACING OF GARBAGE OR ANY ARTICLE OR MATERIAL IN STREETS AND ALLEYS; PROVIDING FOR SERVICE CHARGES; PROHIBITING THE MEDDLING, SCATTERING OF CONTENTS, PILFERING OR JUNKJNG; PROVIDING REGULATIONS AND CHARGES FOR USE OF CITY GARBAGE DUMP; AND PROVIDING A PENALTY OF NOT MORE THAN TWO HUNDRED AND NO/900 DOLLARS (,~ 200.00) FOR VIOLATION OF THE TERMS AND PROVISIONS OF THIS ORDINANCE.
