of the Bayshore Baptist Church, La Porte.

~ 9. Minutes of the previous meeting, held on March 9,
9963 were read and approved.

H 2. Commissioner Brown made a motion, seconded by
f' Commissioner Osburn, that City Engineer Carlos Smith be auth-
Z orized to install curb and gutter on "M" Street from Broadway
to 9st Street. Motion card ed.

°C 3. A pefition, containing forty-one signatures,
purporting to be property owners and residents of the North
Side of the City~of La Porte, petitioning the City Commission
to refrain from issuing any permif to any person or persons
who might present an application for a license to operate an
establishment that would sell any intoxicating drinks west of
North Broadway. The Petition was duly noted and accepted for
file.

4. Commissioner Brown made a motion, seconded by REVISIONS TO PLAN
', Commissioner Dunham, that certain revisions be made to the OF HIGHWAY 146
plan of the Texas State Highway Department for the inter- RE: MA1N & 10TH
section of the Texas State Highway 146 and Main Street, as
pertains to the Left Frontage Road; further, that a plat
showing the revision be forwarded to the State Highway De-
partment. Motion carried.

5. Commissioner Osburn made a motion, seconded by AUTHORIZATION TO PUR-

Motion carried.
6. Commissioner Dunham made q motion, seconded by STATE WATER SCHOOL
Commissioner Stabs, that a State Water School be held in CONDUCTED IN LA PORTS
La Porte from April 1st to April 12th, 1963. Motion carried.

Whatley, Herbert Shutt and Chet Brooks - with the following
message:
"The La Porte City Commission jotns with me in
opposeng House Commettee Amendment to House 8e11 13 as unfaer,
unreasonable, and a definete detriment to all Texas Cefies.
We are not opposed to a reasonable and fair Annexation Bell,
but we urge you to use your vote and enfluence in oppositton
to above Amendments."

8. Commissioner Osburn made a motion, seconded by PURCHASE OF 2" WATER
Commissioner Dunham, that the purchase of fwo 2" water METERS
meters be ratified. Motion carried.
9. Commissioner Stabs made a motion, seconded by ORDINANCE NO. 669
Commissioner Dunham, that Ordinance No. 669 be passed on RE: STATE HIGHWAY

HEREOF, IN THE CITY OF LA FORTE; PROVIDING FOR THE EXECUTION
OF SA/0 AGREEMENT; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
