Pfeiffer, Mayor; Odell L. Brown, Street Commissioner; Tom Osborn, Water and Sewer Commissioner; W. A. Stabs, Jr., Police and Fire Commissioner; Dennis Dunham, Health and Recreation Commissioner. MEMBERS OF COh~M/SS/ON ABSENT: None. OTHER CITY OFFICIALS PRESENT: Clovis D. Mann, City Clerk; Charles L. Pitman, City Attorney; Carlos Smith, City Engineer. PRESIDING: Harold P. Pfeiffer, Mayor. 9. The preliminary contract for Urban Planning received from the Texas State Department of Health was reviewed. Commissioner Dunham made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Osborn, that certain provisions added to the Preliminary Contract, which were not to the original application, be eliminated as not being feasible for the City of La Porte at this time; further, that the City Clerk so nottfy the Texas State Department of Health by letter of the added provision to eliminate. Motion carried. 76. URBAN PLANNING CONTRACT REVIEWED 2. Commissioner Stabs made a motion, seconded ORDINANCE N0. 670 by Commissioner Brown, that Ordinance No. 670, captioned RE: ABANDONING EASE- as follows, be passed on first and final reading. Commissioner Osborn made a motion, seconded AUTHOf2/ZATION TO PUR- by Commissioner Dunham, that the purchase of twenty-four CHASE WATEi' METERS (24) water meters be ratified. Commissioner Stabs made a motion, seconded ORDINANCE N0. 679 by Commtsstoner Dunham, that Ordinance No. 679, captioned RE: ARSOPJ ORDINANCE as follows, be passed on first and final reading. Mutton carried. AN ORDINANCE OFFERING A REWARD OF $ 250.00 FOR THE ARREST AND CONVICTION OF ANY PERSON GUILTY OF ARSON IN THE CORPORATE LlMlTS OF THE CITY OF LA PORTS, DEFINING ARSON, PROVIDING FOR THE PAYMENT OF SUCH REWARD, AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH. 5. Commissioner Dunham made a motion, seconded RESOLUTION NO. 97-63 by Commissioner Brown, that Resolution No. 97-63 authorizing RE: TAX ANT/C. NOTE the Mayor and City Clerk to issue, on behalf of the City of (.~ 4,000.00) La Porte, a Tax Anticipation Note to the La Porte State Bank for four thousand dollars, (~ 4,000.00). Motion carried. (Resolution filed in Resolution Book.) 6. Mayor Pfeiffer called a Special Meeting for SPECIAL MF_ETING CALLED Thursday, April 25, 9963, at 7:00 p. m.
