1. Mtnutes of the June 3, 1963 meeting were read
and approved with name of person giving invocation corrected
to read "Oran L. Sigler" instead of L. Sigler.
2. Bids were received and opened on the foiZowing BIOS RECEIVED ON
equipment. Bids tabulated as shown. (For specifications-refer BACK-HOE ANG LOADER

Commissioner Osburn made a motion, seconded by
Commissioner Baker, that the bids be tabled for further
study and consideration. Motion carried.
3. Mr. James Martin, local manager of the Houston
Lighting and Power Company, appeared before the Commission
with information that La Porte had been changed from "Area
2 Rate Schedule" to "Area 1 Rate Schedule", which results
in a decrease in the minimum rate for users from ~ 1.50 to
,~ 1.20. A proposed Ordinance was presented to affect the
new rate schedule.
Commissioner Stabs made a motion, seconded by ORDINANCE N0. 680
Commissioner Shepherd, that Ordinance No. 680 be passed. RE: APPROVAL OF
Motion carried. Caption follows: RATE CHANGE CF

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF LA PORTS, ADOPTING AND APPROVING
THE RATE SCHEDULES TO BE KNOWN AS SCHEDULE RS-1 AND SCHEDULE
MGS-1 SET FORTH IN EXHIBIT "A" AND EXHIBIT "B" AS ATTACHED
HERETO AND MADE A PART HEREOF BY REFERENCE AND PROVIDING FOR
AN EFFECTIVE DATE FOR SUCH DECREASED RATES.
4. Commissioner Stabs made a motion, seconded by ORDINANCE NO. 681
Commissioner Osburn, that Ordinance No. 681 be passed. Motion RE: CREATING ZONING
carried. Caption follows: COMMISSION
AN ORDINANCE CREATING A PLANNING AND ZONING COMN/SS/ON FOR THE
CITY OF LA PORTS; SETTING FORTH THE QUALIFICATIONS, NUMBER OF
MEMBERS, RULES OF PROCEDURE AND THE RIGHTS, POWERS, AND DUTIES
OF SUCH COI~IISSlON; AND REPEALING ANY AND ALL OROJNANCES OR
PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH.

5. Commissioner Shepherd made a motion, seconded by ORDINANCE N0. 682
Commissioner Osburn, that Ordinance No. 682 be passed. Motion RE-E: APPT. OF ZONING
carted. Caption follows: COMMISSION
AN ORDINANCE CONFIRMING THE APPOINTMENT OF THE MEMBERS OF THE
PLANNING AND ZONING COMM/SS/ON FOR THE CITY OF LA FORTE; ESTAB-
LISHING THE TERMS OF OFFICE OF ~'Al0 MEMBERS AND B1N0/NG SUCH
APPOINTEES TO THE TERMS AND PROVISIONS OF ORDINANCE NUMBER 681.
6. Commissioner Osburn moved that the purchase of
approximately six months supplies of water pipe ftttings from
• Peden Iron and Steel Company, for approximately ,~ 2,000.00
be ratified. Quotatton of prices were received from four
companies. Commissioner Baker seconded the motion, and motion
carried.

7. Commissioner Baker made a motion, seconded by APPROVAL TO PURCHASE
Commissioner Osburn, that the purchase of two hundred fifty- STAB. SHELL
five tons (255) of cement stabilized shell for .~ 526.75 be
rattfied. Motion carried.

8. Commissioner Baker made a motion, seconded by APPROVAL TO EMPLOY
Commissioner Shepherd, that the employment of an additional ADD'L PERSON /N P. D.
person for the Police Department be approved. Motion carried.

9. Commissioner Stabs made a motion, seconded by ACCEPTANCE OF $2~.0(
Commissioner Baker, that the two hundred dollar ($ 200.00) FRC~1 W. R/CHNOW
check from Walter Richnow for fulfillment of Airport Hay
contract for 1961 and 1962 be accepted for the Airport Fund.
Motion carried.
