MINUTES - SPECIAL MEETING
of the
LA PORTS CITY COMM/SS/ON, LA FORTE, TEXAS
August 8, 1963
7:00 P. M.
MEMBERS OF COMM/SS/ON PRESENT: Mayor H. P. Pfeiffer,
Commissioners Frank G. Baker, Russell Shepherd, W. A. Stabs, Jr.
Osburn.
MEMBERS OF CONM/SS/ON ABSENT: Commtsstoner Tom

Special meeting was called with members of the Planning CgMFREHENS/VE
Commission requested to be present for discussion of the proposed PLAN P~~'OPOSED
Comprehensive Planning by Mr. J. Ash, representing Bernard Johnson
• Engineers, Inc, Consultant.
All members of the Planning Commission were present,
the same being as follows:
Waiter Roberson
Elsie Moore
Jack Oliphant
D. 0. Laird
Ode11 L. Brown
Mr. Ash explained to the Planning Commission various
aspects of work on the Comprehensive Plan, and the part they
would have in its development.
After this discussion, the contract for Municipal CONTRACT PRESENTED
Planning, signed by the Consultant Engineer, was presented.
Commissioner Baker made a motion, seconded by MAYOR AUTHO~~IZED TO
Commissioner Shepherd, thaf the Mayor be authorized to sign SIGP~ CONTRACT
the contract for the City, and that issuance of a check to the
State Department of Health for one thousand six hundred ninety
dollars, (~ 1,690.00), representing first payment by the City
be authorized. Motion carried.
The signed contract talcs for another payment of
two thousand five hundred eighty-five dollars (,~ 2,585.00)
on or before completion of 35% of the specified work, and a
final payment of four hundred seventy-five dollars, (~ 475.00)
on or before completion of 90~ of the specified work; maktng
a total of four thousand seven hundred fifty dollars, (.1~ 4,750.00),

for the City's portion. Total cost of program is eleven thousand
eighf hundred dollars, (~ 91,800.00), with seven thousand fifty
dollars ($ 7,050.00), to be paid by the State Department of Health,
under the provisions of Title Vll, Section 701 of the Housing
Acf.of 1954, Public Law 560, 83rd Congress, Chapter 649, 2nd
Sesston, 68th Statute 590, approved the 2nd day of August, 1954,
as amended; commonly referred to as "the 701 Program".
Copy of the contract to be retained in the official
files of the City of La Por#e.
There being no further business at hand, the meeting
was adjourned.
