Pfeiffer. 1. Minutes of Regular Meeting of January 20, 1964 were read and approved. 2. Motion was made by Commissioner Osburn, seconded by Commissioner Stabs, that the action taken at the January 20, 1964 meeting, granttng a Special Permit to Mrs. Cliff Tratner to locate a "Nursery-Private School" at 402 South 6th Street, La Porte, be rescinded, and further, that the action of the Mayor in calling a Public Hearing for February 14, 1964, to consider granting of a Special Permit, be confirmed. Motion carried. (Action rescinded Cisted in Section 4, Minutes of January 20, 1964.) ~ ~ 3. Mr. W. T. Carter of the Shady River Developments, presented final pCans for development of Section 2, Shady River Sub-Diviston, for approval. Commissioner Baker made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Stabs, that the Mayor and City Clerk be authorized to sign the plans after the Planning and Zoning Commission has approved them. Motion carried. 149. • 4. Commissioner Stabs made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Shepherd, that Resolution No. 25-64, cancelling delinquent and unpaid taxes on certain tracts of land owned by the La Porte Independent School District. Motion carried. 5. Commissioner Osborn made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Shepherd, that the City Engineer be authorized to accept bids toward the purchase of a pick-up. Motion carried. 6. Tabulation of bids for 6,000 feet of 2 inch Cast Iron Pipe, or alternate of three (3) inch Cement Asbestos Pipe, received and opened on January 28, 1964, was considered. (Bids and Tabulation on file). Commissioner Osborn made a motion that the City accept and award the purchase to Mabry Foundry and Machine Company, for six thousand (6,000) Lin. Ft. of three (3) inch Cement Asbestos Pipe, at sixty-five (65) cents per foot. Motion seconded by Commissioner Stabs and carried. 7. Report and tabulation on income and expenditures of the Bayshore Municipal Utility District, as pertatns to the City's operations were recetved and noted. 8. Commissioner Shepherd made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Osborn, that the following Purchase Orders be approved. Motion carried. P. O. 545 - dated January 27th, 1964, to Sharp Grain Company for 1500 Lbs. of 70% Chlorine @ .~ 30.60, total $ 459.00 for Water Dept. P. O. 565 - dated February 3, 1964, to Utility Supply Company, Houston, for fittings and supplies,-cost ~ 102.92, for stock and Water Department. P. 0. 567 - dated February 3, 1964, to McNeme Pool Equipment Co., Houston for two (2) Diving Boards, Cost .~ 582.00. ~ ~: 9. Motion made by Commissioner Stabs, seconded by Commissioner Osborn, that the gasoline purchase contract with Mobil Oil Company, be extended for another year. Commiss{over Osborn made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Baker, that the Gross Receipts Tax from Houston Natural Gas Corporation for 9963, in the amount of two thousand six hundred twenty dollars and thirty-two cents, (,~ 2,620.32) representing two per cent (2%) of gross receipts from sale of gas to consumers for residential purposes in the City Limits of La Porte, be accepted. Motion carried. (Gross Receipts Tax for 9962 amounted to ~ 2,483.90). 99. Commissioner Shepherd made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Osborn, that Admintstrative Memorandum No. 90, Subject: Petty Cash Fund, dated February 3, 9964, be approved. • Motion carried. 92. Cvmnisstoner Osborn made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Shepherd, that the invoice from Machine Records, lnc. for two hundred fifty dollars (~ 250.00) for preparation of approximately five hundred ( 500) delinquent tax accounts be approved for payment. Motion carried. 93. Commissioner Baker made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Osborn, that the Mayor be authorized to sign a Release of Paving Lien on Lots 95, 98, 99, 20, 29, 22, and 23, Block 53, Town of La Porte. Motion carried. • 94. Commissioner Baker made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Stabs, that Ordinance No. 693, tailing a City Election to be held on April 28, 9964, for the purpose of electing a Mayor and a Commissioner for Position No. Two (2) and a Commissioner for Position No. Four (4). Motion carried. Caption as follows: 9 50. AN ORDINANCE CALL/NG THE REGULAR ANNUAL ELECTION OF THE CITY OF LA FORTE, TEXAS; PROVIDING FOR A POLLING PLACE; APPOINTING ELECTION OFF/ClAL S; PROVIDING FOR RETURN AND CANVASS OF VOTES OF SAID ELECTION; PROVIDING FOR NOTICE; PROVIDING FOR FILING FEES FOR CANDIDATES; AND PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE. 15. An offer by the Ctty of La Porte to purchase Lots 15, 16 and 17, in Block 267, Town of La Porte has been formally rejected by the Cooper Land Company. Commissioner Shepherd made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Stabs, that the counter offer by Cooper Land Company in the amount of four thousand five hundred dollars, (.~ 4,500.00) be rejected, and that City Attorney C. L. Pitman be authorized to proceed to condemn property for use as a public park. Motion carried. 16. Motion made by Commissioner Osburn, seconded by Commissioner Stabs, that the following Accounts Payable be paid: Rockwell Manufacturing Co.
