MINUTES - REGULAR MEETING
of the
LA PORTS CITY COMN/SS/ON, LA FORTE, TEXAS
April 6, 9964
7:45 p. m.
MEMBERS OF COMMISSION PRESENT: Mayor H. P. Pfeiffer,
Commissioners Tom Osburn, W. A. Stabs, Jr., and Russell Shepherd.
MEMBERS OF COMMISSION ABSENT: Commissioner Frank
G. Baker.
OTHER CITY OFF/CIALS PRESENT: City Attorney C. L.
Pttman, City Clerk Clovis D. Mann, and Water Superintendent
Lyman Cunningham.
PRESIDING: Mayor H. P. Pfeiffer.
9. Commisstoner Stabs made a motion, seconded by
Commissioner Shepherd, that the City Clerk be authorized to
adverttse for bids for a patrol car. Motion carried.
2. Comm,tssioner Shepherd made a motion, seconded by
Commissioner Osburn, that the City Clerk be authorized to pay
Mr. C. R. Edgar the sum of ninety-three dollars and seventy-
six ce~bts (~ 93.76) for repair of damages to his automobile
incurred by a City Garbage Truck, on January 2, 9964. Two (2)
estimates on repair costs were furnished the City Attorney.
Motion carried.

3. The City Commission instructed that an Adminis-
trative Memorandum be prepared outlining procedures fo take when
a city vehicle is involved in an accident.

4. Commissioner Shepherd made a motion, seconded
by Commissioner Stabs, that the City Attorney be authorized
to proceed with negotiations with the Federal Aviation Admin-
istration on acquiring outlots -
Nos. 479, 480 and 489
in connection with airport runway clearance easements; further
that the Boyle Realy Company be authorized payment of one hun-
dred dollars (~ 900.00) for an appraisal of the two outiots.
Motion carried.
5. Motion was made by Commissioner Stabs, seconded
by Commissioner Shepherd, that Purchase Order No. 726-A, to
Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing Company, in the amount of
one hundred seventy-nine dollars and 4orty cents, ($ 979.40)
for street sign materials, be approved. Motion carried.
6. Motion made by Commissioner Shepherd, seconded
by Commissioner Osburn, that the statement from the La Porte
Independent School District, for one-half the cost for lighting
• repairs of the Baseball Fieid, in the amount of seven hundred
forty dollars and sixty-six cents, (,~ 740.66). Motion carried.

7. Commissioner Stabs made a motion, seconded by
Commissioner Osburn, that fhe City Clerk be authorized to adver-
tise 9948 Ford Fire Truck for sale to the highest bidder; sealed
bids to be submitted by 5:00 p.m., May 4th, 1964, with the pro-
vision that the City Commission may reject all bids. Motion
carried.
There being no further business at hand, the meeting
was adjourned.
