Pitman; City Clerk Clovis D. Mann; City Engineer Carlos Smith; Police Chief H. F. Freeman. PRESIDING: Mayor H. P. Pfeiffer. • 1. Commissioner Stabs made amotion, seconded by Commtssioner Shepherd, that the following Accounts Payable be approved for payment: Burrough's Corporation ~ 329.89 Bob's Ditching Service 760.40 Mobil Oii Company 596.97 Southwestern Bell Telephone 110.57 La Porte Construction Company 115.86 Houston Ltghttng and Power 508.44 Motion carried. ~ * « 2. Commiss{over Shepherd made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Baker, that the Purchase Order to Star Fence Company in the amount of one hundred ninety-three dollars and fifty cents, ~~ 193.50) be approved. Motion carried. * ~ ~ 3. Commissioner Shepherd made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Osborn, that a Judge's Robe be purchased for the • Corporation Judge. Mottos carried. 182 183 4. Commissioner Osburn made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Baker, that the Public Works Department be authorized the employment of two addittonal men for the summer. Motion carried. * * ~ 5. Commissioner Osburn made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Baker, that the Public Works Department be authorized to purchase necessary laboratory testing equipment for the Sewerage Disposal Plant, at approximately one hundred eighty-two dollars, ~~ 182.00). Motion carried. 6. Mr. Walter Roberson, Chairman of the Planning and Zoning Commission, informed the Commission that regular meeting dates for the Planning and Zoning Commission have been set for the second Monday of each month, at 7:30 p. m. He also suggested a joint meeting with the Commission for Monday, May 11, 1964. * * ~ 7. A request from the Diamond Jubilee Association to display equipment on the streets and public rtght-of-ways for the Diamond Jubilee Celebration was considered. Commissioner Osburn made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Stabs, that the request be denied. Motion carried. * * ~ 8. A request from the Diamond Jubilee Association to block off 200 and 300 blocks of Main Street on May 18, 1964, at 4:00 p. m. to permit a street dance, in connection with the Diamond Jubilee Association was considered. Commtssioner Osburn made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Shepherd, that the request be approved.
