of the
LA PORTS CITY COM,MISS/ON, LA PORTS, TEXAS
July 6, 1964

PRESENT: Mayor H. P. Pfeiffer, Commissioners
Frank G. Baker, Tom Osburn, Russell
Shepherd, a. ,d W. A. Stahl, Jr.
ABSENT: None.
OTHERS PRESENT: Clovis D. Mann, City Clerk; C. L. Pitman,
City Attorney; Carlos Smith, City
Engineer.
PRESIDING: Mayor H. P. Pfeiffer.
9. Invocation was given by Reverend Wallace
Ford, Pastor of the Communit~~ Church.
2. Minutes of the Spectal Meeting, June 15, 1964
and Regular Meeting, June 95, 9964, were read and approved.
3. Commissioner .Shepherd made a motion,
seconded by Commissioner Osburn, that the followtng
Purchase Orders and /nvoices be approved. Motion carried.

Mr. Calvtn Compton, La Porte for fencing
on Airport ~ 350.00

4. Commissioner Osburn made a motion, seconded
by Commissioner Shepherd, that the fence posts around the
Municipal Airport be replaced; posts be furnished by the
City. The work to replace the post will cost one dollar,
(.~ 1.00) per post for approximateCy 100 posts. Motion carried.

5. Commissioner Shepherd made a motion, seconded
by Commissioner Osburn, that the Director of Finance be
authorized to transfer one thousand dollars, (,~ 1,000.00)
from the Airport Fund in Bayshore Savings Association, to
the "Airport Fund" in the La Forte State Bank, to cover
some airport expenses. Motion carried.
6. Commissioner States made a motion, seconded
by Commissioner Shepherd, that Mr. C. Wes Brashear, now
residing at 409 San Jacinto, be appointed an Auxiltary
Policeman, and that the City Clerk be autho,°ized to issue
a Commission to him. Motion carried.
7. Commissioner Baker made a mot~on, seconded
by Commissioner Osburn, that Resolution No 1 27-64, author-
izing the Mayor and Director of Finance to issue a "Tax
Anticipation" note to the La Porte sate Bank for nine
thousand seven hundred seventy-one dollars and thirty-one
cents, (~ 9,771.31), be passed. Motion canted.

8. Commissioner Baker, made a motion, seconded
by Commissioner Osburn, that Resolution No: '28-64, authorizing
the Mayor and the Director of Finance to issue a "Tax
Anticipation Note" to the La Porte State Bank for seventeen
thousand eight hundred forty-three dollars and eight cents,
(~ 17,843.08), be passed. Motion carried.

9. Commissioner Osburn made a motion
by Commissioner Shepherd, that a Budget Hearing
posed 1964-65 Budget be scheduled for Juty 20,
Motion carried.

10. Commissioner Stabs made a motion, seconded
by Commissioner Osburn, that a Paving Lien against Lots 17, 18,
19, 20, 21 and 22, Block 133, be released. Motion carried.
