• 2. Minutes of the Regular Meeting of Jul;: 20,
1964, were read and approved after deletion of Section 11,
thereof in regard to charges for Water Tap when moving
a house from one location to another site; such proposed
changes requirin_q an amending ordinance.
3. Sealed bids on three thousand (3,000) lineal
feet of eight (8) inch Cement Asbestos Pipe were rPCeived
and opened in accordance with published notice. The follow-
ings bids were received:
Utility Supple Company, Houston $ 9.86 per ft.
Mabry Foundry Co., Beaumont 9.86
Johns-Manville Sales, Houston 1.83
Commissioner stabs made a motion, seconded
by Commisstoner Baker, that the bids be tabled to permit
study and checking against specifications. Motton carried.

4. Seated bids on an asphalt Distributor were
• received and op ned to accordance with, published notice.

Commissioner Baker made a motion, seconded
by Commissioner Stabs, that the bids be tabled to permit
stud~~ and checking against speciftcations. Motion cczrrfed.
5. Pubttc Hearing on the proposed 1964-65 Budget
was held in accordance with the publishdd notice. There
being no comments from the floor, Commissioner Baker made
a motion, seconded by Commissioner Stabs, that the Public
Hearing be closed. Motion carried.

6. Commissioner Baker made a motion, seconded by
Commissioner Stabs, that Ordinance No. 701 be passed and
approved on first and final reading. Motion carried.

7. Quotations received on one thousand, (1,000)
tons of asphalt street materials (as reflected in last min-
utes) having b en considered, Commissioner Baker made a
motion, seconded by Commissioner Stabs, that the quotations
made by Uvalde Rock Asphalt Company, San Antonio., in the
amount of four dollars and seventy-five cents, (~ 4.75) per
• ton at destination, be accepted, and that purchases be auth-
orized. Motion carried.

9. Commissioner Stabs made a motion, seconded
b~.~ Commissioner Baker, that Resolution No. 30-64, autho-
rizing the Mayor and Director of Finance to borrow thirty
thousand dollars, (~ 30,000.00) by Tax Anticipation Note
from the La Porte State Bank, be passed. Motion carried.

Commissioner Baker made a motion, seconded by
Commissioner Stabs, that the quotation received from Al
Braun Company for the Air Conditioning Untt for one thousand
six hundred eighty-eight dollars Cxe accepted; And further, that
the quotation from AlRraun Company for the Evaporative
Cooler for five hundred ninety-stx dollars, ($ 596.00) be
accepted, and that purchases he authorized. Motion carried.
99. Quotations received on Uniform services,
as reflected in the last minutes, having been considered,
Commissioner Baker made a motton, seconded by Commissioner
Stabs, that. the quotation received from /needa, Houston, be

accepted, and that the City be a-:thnrized to enter into an
agreement with /needa for this service, with the employees
concerned paging 50/ of cost b;~ Payroll Deduction. Motion
carried.
