• • 220 • MINUTES - REGULAR MEETING OF THE LA PORTS CITY CQMM/SS/ON, LA I~RTE, TEXAS August 17, 1964 7:00 p.m. COMM/SS/ON PRESENT: Mayor H. P. Pfeiffer, Commissioners Frank G. Baker, Tom Osburn, Russell Shepherd. COMM/SS/ON ABSENT: OTHER OFFICIALS PRESENT: PRESIDING: Commissioner W. A. Stabs, Jr. Clovis D. Mann, City Clerk; Carlos Smith, City Engineer; H. F. Freeman, Police Chief; C. L. Pitman, City Attorney. Mayor H. P. Pfeiffer. 1. Minutes of the Regular Meeting of August 3, 1964, were read and approved. Minutes of Special Meeting of August 12, 1964, • were read and approved with the following amendment: Amend that portion of the minutes in regard to the tabulation of bids and quotations on an asphalt distributor and Pneumatic Roller that redds, „that the bid and quotation submitted by South Texas Equipment Company be rejected as spectfications were not met", to add, Nas per letter from South Texas Equipment Company, dated August 10, 1964, withdrawing bid and quotation". * ~ 2. The annual audit report for the fiscal year 1963-64 was submitted by Hathorn and Suesse, Public Account- ants and Auditors. Commisstoner Osburn made a motion, seconded by Commisstoner Shepherd, that the Audit Report be accepted and that the statement for services from Hathorn and Suesse, in the amount of one thousand two hundred dollars, (~ 1,200.00) wtth three hundred twenty-five dollars, (~ 325.00) previously paid, be approved and that final payment of eight hundred seventy-five dollars, ($ 875.00) be authorized for payment. Commissioner Shepherd made a motion, seconded by Commission Osburn, that the following Purchase Orders be approved. h1©tion carried. P. O. 2019 Halt Sign & Post Co. • (Sign Material) 299.60 2012 U. (Copper tubing) 485.20 2016 Minnesota Mining Co. 157.50 (Sign Material) 5. Commissioner Shepherd made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Baker, that Ordinance No. 702, Abandoning and closing a portion of Sunrise Drive, be passed on first and final reading. Mottos carried. Caption as follows: AN ORDINANCE ABANDONING AND CLOSING A PORTION OF SUN- RISE DRIVE FROM A WESTERLY EXTENSION OF THE SOUTH BOUN- DARY LINE OF BAY COLONY TO THE NORTH BOUNDARY LINE OF RUSTIC RED BLUFF. 6. Commissioner Baker made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Shepherd, that Ordinance No. 658-A, Amending Ordinance No. 658, be passed on first and final reading. Motion carried with Commission Baker and Commissioner Shepherd voting "aye", and Commissioner Osburn voting "nay". Caption as follows: 221 APPROVAL OF ACCOUNT- Pr~ YABL E APPROVAL OF PUR- CHASES ORDINANCE NO. 702 (ABANDONING A POR- TION OF SUNRISE ORIVE) ORDINANCE N0. 658-: (TAP FEES RE: MOV l," BLDG . ) • • • 222 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE N0. 658, SECTION 5 B MAKING PROVISIONS FOR CHARGES FOR WATER TAP FEE 1N CASES WHERE A BU/LDING lS MOVED FRAM ONE LOCATION TO ANOTHER AND IN CASES WHERE METER /S MOVED FOR CONVEN- IENCE OF CUSTOMER. 7. Commissioner Baker made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Osburn, that the Mayor and Ctty Clerk be authorized fo sign a note to AC Braun Company, for two thousand two hundred eighty-four dollars, (~ 2,284.b0), for paymrent of City Hatl Air Condttioning system. (Note will be endorsed to Houston Natural Gas Company). Motion carried. 8. Commissioner Shepherd made a motton, seconded by Commissioner Osburn, that the Regular Meetings of the City Commission' be set for the second and fourth Mondays (September 94 and 28), for the month of September only, instead of the first and thtrd Mondays, due to the first Monday being a holiday. Commissioner Osburn made a motion, seconded CITY ENGINEER AUTH. by Commissioner Shepherd, that the City Engineer, together TO ATTEND SEWER SCH. with whomever he may choose, be authorized to attend the AT SAN JAC.
