MINUTES - REGULAR MEETING of the LA PORTS CITY COMM/SSION, LA FI~RTE, TEXAS September 14, 1964 7:00 p.m. MEMBERS OF COM+1/SS/ON PRESENT: Mayor H. P. Pfeiffer, Commissioners Frank Baker, Russell Shepherd, W. A. Stabs, Jr., and Tom Osburn. MEMBERS OF COMM/SS/ON ABSENT: None. OTHER CITY OFFICIALS PRESENT: City Attorney C. L. Pitman, City Engineer Carlos Smith, and City Clerk Clovis D. Mann. PRESIDING: Mayor H. P. Pfeiffer. 1. Minutes of the Regular Meeting of August 17, 1964 and Special Meeting of August 31, 1964 were read and approved. 2z5 * ~ 2. Bids received on 1965 Police Car, as per listed BIDS OPENED FOR specifications, were opened and read. The following bids were 1965 POL/CE CAR - received: (JAY MARKS BID LOW) Jay Marks Chevrolet Company - ,~ 2,346.59 Less Trade-in of ,~ 700.00, making total Bid of ,~ 1,646.59. Joe Camp Ford Motors - 2,334.00 Less Trade-in of .~` 550.00, making to~a1 Bid of ~ 1,784.00. Commissioner Stabs made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Baker, that the bid of Jay Marks Chevrolet Co., in the amount of $ 1,646.59 be accepted as low bid, and that Purchase Order be issued. Motion carried. 3. Proposed Ordinance No. 705, to be known as the "Sub-Division Ordinance", was presented and read. Commissioner Osburn made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Stabs, that Ord- inance No. 705 be passed; such Ordinance to become effective after the 10th day after the second of two (2) publications of the caption. Motion carried. Caption as follows: ORDINANCE N0. 705 "SUB-DIVISION ORD." • AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING RULES AND REGULATIONS GOVERNING THE PLATTING OR REPLATTING OF LAND INTO SUBDIVISIONS IN THE CITY • • OF LA PORTS AND WITHIN THE EXTRA-TERRITORIAL JURISDICTION OF THE CITY OF LA FY~RTE AND REQUIRING PLATS AND REPEATS TO CONFORM TO SUCH RULES AND REGULATIONS IN ORDER TO PROCURE THE APPROVAL OF THE CITY PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION, CITY OF LA PORTS PRO- VIDING A PENALTY AND SAV/NGS CLAUSE AND REPEALING ALL CONFLICTING ORDINANCES. PROVIDING A PENALTY OF NOT LESS THAN $ 90.00 NOR MORE THAN ,~ 200.00 FOR EACH DAY IN VIOLATION OF THE PROVISIONS OF THIS ORDINANCE. 4. Invoice No. 49397, from the Layne Texas Company, in the amount of ten thousand Thirty-two dollars, (~ ?0,032.00), for complete water pump, combination gear drive, and motor, carts presented for payment. Commiss{over Baker made a motion, sec- onded by Commissioner Osburn, that invoice No. 49397 be paid. Mottos carried. • 5. A request from Happy Harbor was presented to shell Bellaire Street, with Happy Harbor paying one hundred dollars, (,~ 900.00, )toward the project. A motion was made by Commissioner Baker, seconded by Commissioner Osburn, that the City of La Porte add approximately three hundred dollars, (~ 300.00), to place enough shell on the streef to make tt passible and to serve as a base for future improvement to bring the street to City speci- iftcations. Motion carried. 226 AUTHORIZATION TO PAY LAYNE TEXAS CC. FOR WELL REPAIR HAPPY HARBOR RE~~UESI SHELLING BELLAIRE STREET 6. Corrrnissioner Baker made a motion, seconded by DRAINAGE OITCH Commissioner Shepherd, that a drainage ditch be opened from OPENED Blackwell avenue, on East "D" and East "B", to the Flood Confrol (AMENDED) Ditch.
