P. ,~ Pfeiffer; Commissioners W. A. Stabs, Jr., Frank G. '°~ Baker, Tom VV. Osburn, and Russell Shepherd. ', ~ MEMBERS OF THE COMMISSION ABSENT: None. OTHER CITY OFFICIALS PRESENT: City Attorney C. L. Pitman, ~'~ City Clerk Clovis D. Mann, City Engineer H. Carlos Smith, and Water Superintendent Lyman Cunningham. ~ PRESIDING: Mayor H. P. Pfeiffer. ~li + + + 1. Minutes of the regular meeting of February 1, 1865, -~ and of the Special meeting of February 8, 1965, were ~- ~; read and approved. + + + 2. Commissioner Osburn made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Baker, that the acceptance of bids on purchase of annual usage of gasoline and allied products scheduled for this date be postponed until the next regular Commission meeting of March 1, 1865. Motion carried. + + + 3. Commissioner Baker made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Shepherd, that Ordinance No. 620-F, ammendment to the Zoning Ordinance, be approved and passed on first and final reading. Motion carried. Caption as follows: CAPTION AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE N0. 620; CHANGING BLOCKS g8 AND 337 OF THE TOWN OF LA PORTE, IN THE ~~~ CITY OF LA PORTE, IN HARRIS COUNTY, TEXAS, FROM ITS PRESENT TEMPORARY ZONING CLASSIFICATION TO BE HENCE- ., FORTH CLASSIFIED AS "B" COMMERCIAL OR LOCAL RETAIL .~ ~ DISTRICT. r + + + tLa 4. Commissioner Osburn made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Shepherd, and carried, that Ordinance No. 70g be approved and passed on first and final reading. A motion was made by Commissioner Stabs and seconded by Commissioner Osburn, and carried, that the Mayor and the City Clerk be authorized to sign a contract with Harris County providing for reimbursement to the City of La Porte for meals furnished to county prisoners while in City Jail.. + + + 6. Commissioner Shepherd made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Osburn, that the Mayor be authorized to sign the cooperative agreement with Harris County for Urban Transportation Study. Motion carried. + + + 7. Commissioner Stabs made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Shepherd that MURRAY J. O'CONNER, 930 S. 2nd Street, be issued a Commission as a Reserve Patrolman. Motion carried. + + + 8. A motion was made by Commissioner Shepherd, and seconded by Commissioner Baker, and carried, that McCune Paint Company of Baytown, Texas, be authorized to furnish all labor and materials to sandblast and clean interior surfaces of 4 steel tank filters, and to coat interior surfaces with epoxy paint to thick- ness of a minimum of 10 mils dry, at the Swimming Pool, at a cost of X6380.00. + + + 9. A motion was made by Commissioner Shepherd and seconded by Commissioner Stabs, and carried, that the following Purchase Orders be approved: No. 4218 - Frenchy's Floor Service, 8-Y-24, $ 550.00 No. 4219 - B. F. Goodrich Co., 3-B-13, 240.16 No. 4220 - McCune Paint Co., 9-F-38, 380.00 No. 4221 - C. YJ. Seyer, Gen. Cont., 8-Y-24 429.00 + + + 10. A motion was made by Commissioner Baker and seconded by Commissioner Stabs, that the City Engineer be authorized to employ a replacement for Kenneth Windsor, Public Works Department. A motion was made by Commissioner Shepherd and seconded by Commissioner Osburn, that the following accounts payable be approved for payment. Motion carried.
