Pfeiffer, Commissioners Lois Compton, Russell Shepherd, Tom Osburn, and W. A. Stabs, Jr. MEMBERS OF THE COMM/SS/ON ABSENT: None OTHER CITY OFFICIALS PRESENT: City Clerk Marilyn Kelley, City Engineer H. Carlos Smith, Chief of Police H. F. Freeman, Water Superintendent Lyman Cunningham, Street Superintendent Clifford E1Cis. PRESIDING: Mayor Pfeiffer + + + 1. Minutes of the ReguCar Meeting of June 7, 1965 were adopted as written. + + + 2. Ulysses Todd appeared before the Commission protesting Krebs Construction Company's building the apartment project on the property adjacent to his home. Commissioner Compton made a motion, seconded by Corrmtssioner Stabs that the City Clerk write Krebs asking that some action be taken by July 21. Mottos carr t ed. + + + 3. Commissioner Osburn made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Stabs, that the date of the next Regular Meeting be changed from July 5 to July 12 at 7:OOP.M. Motion carried. + + + 4. Chief of Police Freeman gave a report on a traffic study of the tntersectton of S.H. 146 and Eighth Street, made by the Texas Htghway Department. See exhibit 1. Commissioner Stabs made a mottos, seconded by Commissioner Osburn, that the City follow the recommendation of the State and work closly with them to correct the trafftc problem. Motion carried. + + + • 5. Commissioner Osburn made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Shepherd, and carried, that the following Accounts Payable be approved: Shilstone Testing Laboratory X350.00 Gulf Oil Corporation 169.60 Nathorne & Suesse 150.00 + + + 6. A motion was made by Commissioner Stabs, and seconded by Commissioner Osburn, that Jay Notes be appointed Assistant Fire Marshall. Motion Carried. + + + 7. Commissioner Stabs presented the following bids for fire hose: Eureka Fire Hose 600' 2~z" Double Jacket $1,095.00 15' 2/z" So f t Suction 90.00 M. C. Davts 600' 2'/r" Dovbie Jacket ,1,050.00 15' 2~r" So f t Suction 137.50 Commissioner Stabs made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Osburn that the hose be purchased from Eureka Fire Nose. Mottos carried. + + + 8. A motion was made by Commissioner Shepherd, seconded by Commissioner Compton that the City Clerk be authorized to pay Sfephens Baker Insurance $335.00, down payment on a five year policy covering the Fire Station, City Nall and contents of each. Motion carried. + + + 9. Commissioner Compton made a mottos, seconded by Commissioner Stabs that Ernest Zimmerman be refunded 1964 taxes on Lots 16 and 17, Block 22 EZ Jardtn, X16.63. Mottos Carried. + + + 70. A motion was made by Commissioner Compton, seconded by Commissioner Shepherd, that a street ltght be installed at the corner of "C" and Idaho.
