9. Minutes of the Regular Meeting of July 92, and the
Special Meeting of July 93, 9965 wer approved as
written:

2. Mr. Keith Cummins, of Cummins, Reid and Clements,
presented preliminary plans for the civic Center,
Library and Jail Building. After a period of
discussion, Commtsstoner Osborn made a motion,
seconded by Commissioner Compton, the Mr. Cummins
preceed with the plans and specifications of the
Civic Center. Further that he preceed with the
Library contingent on approval of matching Federal
funds and •the Jail Building upon approval of Chief
Freeman and Commissioner Stabs. Motion carried.

3. Commissioner Osborn made a motion, seconded by
Commissioner Stabs, that the City Engineer be
authorized to advertise on July 29 for bids on .
moving the ground water tank from site No. 3 to'
site No. 4 and the tank from site No. 2 to site
No. 3. Bids wtllte opened on Augusf 96, 9965, at
7:00 P. M. Motion canted. '

4. A motion was made by Commissioner Compton and
seconded by Commissioner Osburn that the City
tngineer be authorized to contact Mayor Tony
Polker of Morgan's Point and work ou an acceptable
agreement whereby the City may sell the Bayrtdge
water services to them. Motion carried.

5. Commissioner Stabs made a motion, seconded by
Commissioner Osburn the Resolution No. 38,
authorizing the Mayor and Director of Finance
to issue a "Tax Anticipation" note to the lLa
Porte State Bank for seven thousand two hundred
two dollars and fifty nine cents (7,202.59) be
passed. Motion canted.

6. A motion was made by Commissioner Osburn, seconded
by Commissioner Compton that Resolution No. 39,
authorizing the Mayor and Utrector of Finance to
issue a "Tax Anticipation" note to La Porte State
Bank for six thousand two hundred one doCCars and
ninety-nine cents ($6,209.99) be passed. Motion
carried.

7. Commissioner Compton made a motion, seconded by
Commissioner Stabs that Resolution #40, authorizing
the Mayor and Oirector of Finance to issue a
"Tax Anticipation" note to La Porte State Bank for
thirty thousand dollars (,30,000) be passed. Motion
carried.

8. A motion was made by Commissioner Compton, seconded
by Commissioner Stabs, that Resolution No. 49,autho-
riztng the Mayor and Oirector of Finance to issue a
"Tax Anticipation" note to Bayshore National Bank
for thirty thousand dollars (30,000) be passed.
Motion carried.

9. Commissioner Stabs made a motion, seconded by Comm-
issioner Compton that the Cify Clerk be authorized
to issue a Fire School expense check to ~t•he La Porte
Volunteer Fire Department for ,900. Motion carried.

~~ 10. A motion was made by Commissioner Osborn, seconded
by Commissioner Stabs and carried that payment of
,150. for Swimming Pool Insurance, Stephens Baker
Insurance Company, be approved. Motion carried.

11. Commissioner Compton made a motion, seconded~by
Commissioner Osborn and carried that the following
Accounts Payable be approved:
Hedrick Engineers .120.00
Builders Supply 406.00
C. ~. Suesse 960.00
Gulf Oil Corporation 169.60

92. A motion was made by Commissioner Osborn, and
seconded by Commissioner Compton, that the
purchase of a used transit from L. S. Vailely
for .Q'500. be approved. Motion carried.

• 93. A letter was received from Krebs Construction
Company asking that a sixty day extension of time
be granted for the rezoning of fhe Minchen property.
U. G. Todd expressed an objection to any extension
of time. After much discussion Commissioner
Compton made a motion, seconded by Commissioner
Osborn that a stxty day extension from July 12,
1965 be granted. Motion canted with two voting
"yes" and Commissioner Stabs voting "no.".

14. Commissioner Stabs made a motion, seconded by
Commissioner Compton thQt Salary Continuation
Insurance be made available to the employees
at their option. Further that the City Clerk
be authorized to deduct the premtum on a Salary
Deductton Plan. Motion carried.

15. A motion was made by Commissioner Compton, seconded
by Commissioner Stabs and carried, that the Cify
assume one half the cost of painting a sign for
the Air National Guard, provided the Chamber of
Commerce wiCl assume the other one half. Total
cost ~ 130.

96. Commissioner Osburn made a motion, and seconded
by Commissioner Compton that the City Engineer
advertise for bids on a Backhole Loader. Bids
to be opened on August 96, 9965 at 7:00 P.M.
Motion carried.

MEETING WAS ADJOURNED.
