Pfeiffer, Commissioners Russell Shepherd, Tom W. Osborn, Lois J. Compton, and W. A. Stabs, Jr. MEMBERS OF THE COMMISSION ABSENT: None OTHER CITY OFFICIALS PRESENT: City Engineer H. Carlos Smith, City Attorney Knox Askins and City Clerk MartZyn Kelley. PRESIDING: Mayor Pfeiffer. + + + 1. Robert Phillips met with the Commission to discuss a possible Zease at the Municipal Airport. The City offered to lease one acre now for 2a per sq. ft., the second acre 12 months from now, and a third acre upon a 15 day option. Said lease would be for a period of 20 years, after which the title to the improvements would revert to the City. Mr. Phillips would be given a 2 to 5 year option to lease said improvements from the City. Further the City would provide an access road to the given tract. Mr. Phillips would provide the road adjacent to said tract. Mr. PhiZCips was requested to present the Commission more specific infromafion as to what improvements he plans to make and also furnish the City with a financial statement. + + + 2. Commissioner Osborn made a motion, seconded by ~om»issionE~r Compton that Purchase Orders for Certified Laboratories and Hayden be approved. Notion carried. + + + 3. The Commission discusses at length the streets tp be paved under the Bond Program. The following streets were approved for paving: Nugent from Park to Roscoe. Roscoe from Nugent to Holmes. Holmes from Roscoe to Park. Carroll from Park to East Main. So. "D" from Utah to Arizona. Arizona from So. "D" to So. "C". So. "C" from Broadway to San Jacinto. So. "F" from San Jacinto to Utah. So. "H" from San Jacinto to Utah. So. "G" from Broadway to So. 4th. So. 1st from So. "G" to So. "B". So. "A" from So. 9th to So. 3rd. Polk from So. 9th to Broadway. No. "A" from Broadway to Virginia. Virginia from No. "A" to East Main. North 4th from West Main to Polk. • The City Clerk was instructed to canvass the following streets for information as to the number of persons interested in participating in the program: No. 4th from Polk to Madison. No. 5th from West Main to Madison. Oakgrove, Bayshore Drive, and So. Utah. Commissioner Compton was tnstructed to contact the St. John's Episcopal Church about participating in the paving of So. "G" Street. Mayor Pfetffer agreed to contact the following persons. La Porte /ndependent School - So. "G" Street, and Arizona. Harris County - So. "A" from Broadway to San Jacinto.
