MINUTES - REGULAR MEETING
OF THE
LA PORTS CITY COMM/SS/ON, LA PORTS, TEXAS
• March 7, 1966
MEMBERS OF COMMISSION PRESENT: Mayor H. P. Pfeiffer, Commissioners
Russell Shepherd, Lois J. Compton, and W. A. Stabs, Jr.
MEMBERS OF COMMISSION ABSENT: Commissioner Tom W. Osburn.
OTNER CITY OFFICILAS PRESENT: City Engineer H. Carlos Smith, Cify
Attorney Knox Asktns, Chtef of Police H. F. Freeman, and
City Clerk Marilyn Kelley.
PRESIDING: Mayor Pfeiffer.

1. Commissioner Compton made a motion, seconded by Commissioner
Shepherd that the minutes of the Regular meeting of February
21, 1966, and Special meeting of February 28, 1966 be approved
as written.

2. Mr. Robert Daniels asked about the progress that had been
made toward establishing a Low Rent Housing Project in La
Porte. The Commission advised that some immediate action
would be taken.

3. The City Engineer advised the Commission that matching funds
for Water and Sewer line extensions may be available from
the FederaC Housing Authority under the Home Urban Development
Act. He further advised that the City not award bids on our
projects until more information is secured about a possible
grant .

4. A motion was made by Commissioner Shepherd, seconded by
Commissioner Stabs and carried that the following'Accounts
Payable be approved:

Bob Schmidt, Inc. 112.00
Burroughs Corporation 233.00

~~.1 ; 5. Commissioner Stabs made a motion, seconded by Commissioner
Shepherd that the Director of Public Works be authorized
to advertise for bids on Gasoline, Oil and Products for
the year. Motion carried.

6. C motion was made by Commissioner Shepherd, seconded by
ommissioner Compton and carried that the following
Purchase Orders be approved:
Gamon Meter Company
Pump and Power Company $437.00
Flex Rod Company 106.50
Gamon Meter Company 903.12

7. Commissioner Stabs made a motion, seconded by Commissioner
Shepherd thaf the city Engineer prepare an estimate of the
cost of relocating the generator from fhe well site on
Fourth Street to the City Hall.
