Pfeiffer, Commissioners W. A. Stabs, Jr., Lois J. Compton, Russell Shepherd, and Charles D. Boyle. MEMBERS OF THE COMMISSION ABSENT: None OTHER CITY OFFICIALS PRESENT: City Attorney Knox W. Askins, City Engineer H. Carlos Smith, Chief of Police H. F. Freeman, and City Clerk Marilyn Kelley. PRESIDING: Mayor Pfeiffer. 1. Minutes of the regular meeting of December 19, 1966 were approved as written. 2. Bids were received for the purchase of an auxiliary power unit. (See Exhibit No. 1). Commissioner Boyle made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Stabs, that the bids be tabled for tabulation. Motion carried. 3. The Commission received bids for the street paving project. (See Exhibit No. 2). Commissioner Compton made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Boyle, that the t.>ids be tabled for tabulation. Motion carried. 4. Mr. Norman Staashen state: that he has a large water bill, and does not feel that the adjustment , as authorized by policy is fair. After considerable discussion, it was agreed that Mr. Staashen will be allowed the normal adjustment plus discounts. 5. A motion was made by Commissioner Stabs, and seconded by Commissioner Compton, that the Mayor and City Clerk be authorized to execute and deliver a release of paving lien to the Community Church, when the required amount of money has been placed in escrow with the title company. 6. The Commission discussed the proposed "Spenwick Place Municipal Utility District". Action was tabled until we receive a request for approval to form said District. 7. A motion was made by Commissioner Stabs, and seconded by Commissioner Shepherd and carried, that the following accounts payable be approved: Houston Natural Gas Corp. 761.34 Gulf Oil Corporation 124.39 Gulf Oil Corporation 124.39 Joe Camp Motors 4,199.58 8. Commissioner Compton made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Shepherd, that the purchase of 200 tons of stone @ 2.72, from Texas Crushed Stone Company, be approved. Motion carried. 9. A motion was made by Commissioner Stabs, and seconded by Commissioner Compton, that Taxi Permit No. 18, La Porte Taxi Company, for the year of 1967, be approved. Motion carried. 10. Commissioner Compton made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Stabs, that thepurchase of 16 used Neo-Flasher units, @ 12.50, FOB La Porte, be approved. Motion carried. 11. The City tngineer presented a rough estimate of the cost of installing water and sewer lines to Block 124, La Porte. Sewer Lines $1,742.00 Water Lines 7,310.00 Meter 275.00 $9,327.00 Commissioner Boyle made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Stabs, the the City assume one-half the cost of the installation, with the developer assuming the other one-half.
