MINUTES - REGULAR MEETING
OF THE

1. The minutes of the regular meeting of April 3, 1967 and the special
meeting of April 5, 9967, were approved as written.

2. Ambulance bids were received from Belford Ambulance Service,
Superior Ambulance Service, Brookhaven, lnc. and George Lunday.
(See Exhibit No. 1). Commissioner Stabs made a motion, seconded
by Commissioner Compton, that the bids be tabled for study.
Motion carried.

3. Bids were received on the purchase of a 9967 Station Wagon.
(See Exhibit No. 2). A motion was made by Commissicner Stabs
and seconded by Commissioner Shepherd, that the bids be tabled
for study. Motion carried.

4. Gulf Oil Corporation and Humble Oii Company submitted bids for
furnishing Petroleum Products. (See Exhibit No. 3). The City
Engineer recommended that the contract be given to low btdder
Gutf Oil Corporation.
Commissioner Shepherd made a motion, seconded by Commissioner
Boyce, that the contract be award to Gulf Oil Corporation.
Motion carried. .

5. The City Clerk stated that Mr. Bruce Angel has requested that
Lcz Porte Outlots 72 thru 75, and 83 thru 89, be rezoned from
Class "A" Residential to Class "C" Commercial. She further
stated, that the Planning and Zoning Corranission has referred
the request to the City Commission, as there has been a previous
Zoning Hearing.
Mr. Frank Boyle stated that there are several tracts in that
area that should be rezoned, and requested thaf La Porte Blocks
733 and 734 be included.
The City Attorney advised the Commission, that the property on
which a previous hearing has been held, can be handled at thts
time, but thaf the other request should come to the Commission
through the Planning and Zoning Commission, and a hearing be
held.
Commissioner Shepherd made a motion, seconded by Commissioner
Stabs, that La Porte Outlats 72 thru 72, and 83 thru 89, and
Blocks 733 and 734 be rezoned from Class "A" Residential to
Class "B" Commercial. Motion carried.

6. A special meefing was called for Monday, April 24, at 7:00 P. M.,
to discuss the baseball programs.

7. The Cify Clerk requested approval of the form letter to be used
as the first weed cutting notice. (See Exhibtt No. 4). A motion
was made by Commissioner Compton, and seconded by Commissioner
Shepherd, that the letter be approved as proposed. Motion carried.

8. Commissioner Boyle made a motion, seconded by Commissioner
Shepherd and carried, that Resolution No. 67-61 be approved.

9. A motion was made by Commissioner Boyle, and seconded by Commissioner
Compton, that the required Cand coverage for Muti-Dwellings or
Apartments not exceed 40~, that a minimum of two parking spaces
per apartment be required, and that tenative approval of the Space
City Development Company apartments be given. Motion carried.

10. Commissioner Shepherd made a motion, seconded ay Commissioner
Boyle, and carried, that the following accounts payable be
approved:

11. A motion was made by Commissioner Shepherd, seconded by
Commissioner Compton, and carried that the following purchases
be approved:

12. Bids for the exterminating of the Folice Station, City Hali,
Fire Station, old and new, and the Welfare Office were
received from Coastal Exterminating Company and Tri-City
Exterminating Company. (See Exhibit No. 5 & 6).
Commissioner Boyle made a mottos, seconded by Commissioner Stabs,
that Coastal Exterminating Company be employed to exterminate
the City properties as per his bid. Motion carried.

Commissioner Stabs recommended that the hose be purchased from
Houston Fire and Safety.
Commissioner Stabs so moved, seconded by Commissioner Boyle, and

74. Commissioner Stabs made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Compton,
that Robert D. Faircloth be given a Reserve Police Officer Commis-
sion. Motion carried.

75. A motion was made by Commissioner Boyle, and seconded by Commissioner
Shepherd, that the City Engineer be authorized to replace the water
line in the 700 Block of Carroll Street. Motion carried. Est. Cost
X940.32

76. The City Engineer reported that he had located a Mr. Robinson
that wilt sweep all the concrete streets in the City, every two
weeks, for $990.67 per month.
The Commission authorized the City Attorney to prepare a contract
for one year, with a 30 day cancelation clause.
