Lots J. Compton and Charles D. Boyle.
MEMBERS OF THE COMMISS/ON ABSENT: Commissioners Bobby J. Burgtn, and
W. A. Stabs, Jr.
OTHER CITY OFF/C/ALS PRESENT: City Attorney Knox W. Ask ins, City Clerk
Martlyn Kelley, and City Engineer H. Carlos Smith.

1. Minutes of the regular meeting of May 15, 1967, and the special
meeting of May 17, 1967, were approved as written.

2. Mr. F. E. Westergren, Jr., and Mr. Joe Camp requested that the
City request that the State Highway Department construct
temporary crosstngs at "E" and "F" Streets.
Commissioner Boyle made a motion, seconded by Commissioner
Compton, that the City Engineer contact the State and request
that temporary crosstngs be constructed at "E" and "F" Streets.
Crossings at "B" and "G" Streets were previously requested.
Motion carried.

3. The following bids for Asphalt Street Surfacing were received:

Commissioner Boyle made a motion, seconded by Commissioner
Compton, that bids be tabled for tabulation. Motion carried.

4. A motion was made by Commtssioner Boyce, and seconded by
Commissioner Compton, that bids for the sale of Waterwell
Site No. 2, Lot 6, Biock 33, Town of La Porte, be received
on July 90, 9967. Motion carried.

5. Corrrnissioner Compton made a motion, seconded by Commissioner
Boyle, that the regular meeting of July 3 be changed to
July 90. Motion carried.

6. A motion was made by Commissioner Boyle, and seconded by
Commissioner Compton, that a Paving Assessment hearing be
held at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, July 92, at the City Hall.
Motion carried.

7. Commissioner Boyle made a motion, seconded by Commisssioner
Compton, that the Director of Public Ulorks be authorized
to recetve bids for 5000' of 3" AC Pipe, at 7:00 P. M.,
July 90. Motion carried.

8. A motion was made by Commissioner Boyce, and seconded by
Commissioner Compton, that bids for Water and Sewer Extensions,
be received on Juiy 90, 9967. Motion carried.

9. Commissioner Boyle made a motion, seconded by Commissioner
Compton, that the City Engineer be authorized to secure bids
for a Flow Meter. Motion carried.

10. A motion was made by Corrnnissioner Boyle and seconded by
Commissioner Compton, that Walter A. Smith, Estimate 1#2,
be approved for payment. (City $90,959.93). Further, that
the Mayor be authorized to sign an application for F.A.A.
funds. Motion c<~rried.

11. Commissioner Boyle made a motion, seconded by Commissioner
Compton, and carried, that the fol lowing Accounts Payable
be approved:

12. A motion was made by Commissioner Compton, seconded by
Commissioner Boyle, and carried, t hat the following purchases
be approved:

13. Commissioner Compton made a motion, seconded by Commissioner
Boyle, that Nay Lee Baker be given a Police Officer Reserve
Commission. Motion Carrted.

14. A motion was made by Commissioner Compton, and seconded by
Commissioner Boyle, that the City approve a contract with
Harris County to purnish meals for County prisoners betng
held in the La Porte Jaii. Motion carried.

15. Commissioner Boyle made a motion, seconded by Commissioner
Compton, That fhe traffic light at Jacinto and "C" Streets
be modified to allow flashing as desired by the Police
Department. Motion carried.

76. A motion was made by Commissioner Boyle and seconded by
Commtssioner Compton, that L. H. McKey be authorized to
clean out the ditch along Texas Avenue and "M" Streets.
Approx. Cost X200.00. Motion carried.
