Pfeiffer, Commissioners W. A. Stabs, Jr., Lois J. Compton, Charles D. Boyle, and Bobby J. Burgin. MEMBERS OF THE COMMISSION ABSENT: None OTHER CITY OFFICIALS PRESENT: City Attorney Knox W. Askins, City Engineer H. Carlos Smith, City Cierk Martlyn Kelley, and Fire Chief H. Gould Crofoot. PRESIDING: Mayor Pfeiffer. + + + 9. The minutes of the regular meeting of June 99, 9967 and the special meetings of June 22, 9967, and June 26, 9967, were approved as written. + + + 2. A bid of X375.00 for the purchase of Lot 6, Block 33, Town of La Porte, was received from Mrs. Patricia Martin. Commissioner Boyle made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Burgin, that Lot 6, Block 33, Town of La Porte, be sold to Mrs. Patricia Martin, for the bid price of X375.00. Moticn carried. + + + 3. Commissioner Stabs made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Burgin, that a check be issued for expenses to Fireman's Training School, .900.00. Motion carried. + + + 4. A motion was made by Commissioner Stabs, and seconded by Commissioner Compton, that the City pay the balance of medical expenses for C. S. Dunham who had an on job accident. Further that the City secure signed releases from Mr. Dunham. Motion carried. t + + ~ ~ 5. Bids were received on 5000' of 3" Asbestos Cement Pipe. Bidding were as follows: Municipal Pipe Company $.70 Mabry Foundry Company .70 John-M.anv i C l e . 70 Utility Sup,~~ ly Company .70 Moore Supply Company .79 Commissioner Boyle made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Stabs, that the bids be tabled for study. Motion carried. + + + 6. After a general discussion of the 9967-68 Proposed Budget, Commissioner Stabs made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Boyle, that the 9967-68 Budget be app;roved. Motion carried. + + + 7. The City Clerk was requested to notify N;r. Keith Cummins, by Cer{fled Matl, of items that need attention at the New Library and Civic Center. + + + 8. A motion was made by ConrnisstonerCompton, seconded by Commissioner Boyle that the glass at the Civic Center be replaced and that two guard bars be installed across the entire front. Motion carried. + + + 9. The City Attorney gave a report on the progress of Fairmont Park, Section #3. After considerable discussion, Commissioner Boyle made a motion, seconded by Conmissioner Burgtn, that the City Attorney prepare an amendment to the Sub-Division Ordinance, allowtng a cash security in-lieu of a bond require- ment. Motion carried. + + + 90. The Commission discussed at length the proposed Bay Meadows Addition. The City Engineer was requested to prepare an estimate of cost. + + + 99. Commissioner Stabs made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Compton that bids for the sale of the 9928 Ladder Truck and other surplus ttems be received at 7:00 F.M., August 7, 9967. Motion carried. + + + 12. Commissioner Boyle made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Burgin, and carried, that purchases orders to Coastal Armature Company for repairs to Weil #3, and Texas Crushed Stone Company, for stone, be approved. + + + 14. A motion was made by Commissioner Stabs, seconded by Commissioner Compton, that the City pat the cost of gasoline to deliver the new fire truck to College Station, and secure insurance to cover fhe truck.
