MEMBERS OF THE COMM/SS/ON PRESENT: Mayor Pro-Tem W. A. Stabs, Jr., Commisstoners, Charles D. Boyle, Lois J. Compton, and Bobby J. Burgin. MEMBERS OF THE COMM/SS/ON ABSENT: Mayor Pfeiffer. OTHER CITY OFF/C/ALS PRESENT: City Attorney Knox W. Askins, City Engineer H. Carlos Smith, Chief of Police H. F. Freeman, and City Clerk Marilyn Kelley. PRESIDING: ~~;ayor Pro-Tem Stabs. + t + 9. The minutes of the regular meeting of October 23, 9967, were approved as written. + + + 2. A motion was made by Commissioner Burgin, and seconded by Commissioner Boyle, that the Commission approve $500.00 for the Housing Board to cover expenses in making a study of the needs in La Forte. Motion carried. + + + 3. Mrs. Evelyn Kennedy requested that the City assist in the cleaning of several lots on North Side. The Zots will be used for playground areas. Commissioner Compton made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Boyle, that upon receiving letters of approval from the owners, that the Cify be authorized to cut the lots. Motion carried. + + + 4. The City Engineer recommended that the two truck chassis and pick-up be purchased from the low bidder, Jay Marks Chevrolet, $7,755.90, and that the two dump bodies be purchased from Gar-Wood, ,963.25. Motion carried. + + + 5. The City Engineer recommended that the Water and Sewer contracts be let to W. C. DuBose, X5,759.80. Motion carried. + + + • 6. A motion was made by Commissioner Boyle, and seconded by Corrrmissioner Burgin, that the Director of Public Works be authorized to purchase the material for the water and sewer work. Motion carried. + + + 7. The City Engineer presented plans for the construction of a new dog pound. (Approximate cost .1,800.00) Commissioner Burgin made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Compton, that action be tabled for study. Motion carried. + + t 8. A discussion of the proposed trailer ordinance was held. Commissioner Burgin made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Boyle, that the Ordinance be tabled until next meeting. Motion carried. t + + 9. A motion was made by Commissioner Boyle, and seconded by Commissioner Compton, that bids be recetved at 4:00 F.M., November 24, 1967, for a new Police car, with an alternate bid on a regul::r showroom car. Motion carried. + + + 10. Commissioner Compton made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Burgin, that the City Attorney be given authorization to negotiate with Allstate Insurance Company and to arrive at a settlement. Motion carried. + + + 11. A motion was made by Commissioner Burgin, seconded by Commissioner Compton, and carried, that the following purchases be approved: Gamon Meter Company $108.70 Andy Cordell Brick Company 198.00 + + + 12. Commissioner Burgin made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Boyle, that the payment to Knox Ask ins of .429.04, for October Delinquent Tax collections, be approved.
