OF THE
LA PORTS CITY COMMISSION, LA PORTS, TEXAS
November 27, 1967
5:00 P. M.
MEMBERS OF THE COMM/SS/ON PRESENT: Mayor H. P. Pfeiffer, Commissioners
W. A. Stabs, Jr., Lois J. Compton, Charles D. Boyle, and Bobby
J. Burgin.
MEMBERS OF THE COMMISSION ABSENT: None
OTHER CITY OFF/C/ALS PRESENT: Ctty Attorney Knox W. Askins, Ctty Engtneer
H. Carlos Smith, and City Clerk Marilyn Kelley.
PRESIDING: Mayor Pfeiffer.

1. The Commission discussed at length, the Street Paving Program.
After discusstng each unit in the program, Commissioner Burgin
made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Stabs, and carried, that
the City Enginec+r be authorized to issue work orders on the following
units:

2. Commissioner Compton made a motion, seconded by Commissioner
Burgin, that purchase order no. 6552, to Jay Marks Chevrolet,
in the amount of .230.65, for gcxrbage truck repairs, be approved.
Motion carried.

3. Commissioner Stabs reported that the following bids for the
purchase of a 1968 Police Car were received:
Joe Camp Ford
Jay Marks Chevrolet
$2,973.49
2,873.62
He further stated that he could get no commitment as to the
delivery date. He stated that Jay Marks has located a Belair
4 Door Sedan, X2,993.00. He recommended that he be authorized
to purchase this car or one at less price, if one can be located.
A motion was made by Commissioner Stabs, seconded by Commisstoner
Compton and carried, that the purchase of the car at X2,993.00
or one at less price if possible, be approved. Motion carried.

4. Commissioner Con>pton advised that Commission that the Neighborhood
Centers Board are plannfng to handle the Baseball program locally
and deposit all funds in a local bank.
Commissioner Boyle made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Burgin,
that the Commission concur with the handling of the Baseball
Program. Motion carried.
