Pfeiffer, Commissioners Charles D. Boyle, and Lois J. Compton. MEMBERS OF THE COMMISSION ABSENT: Commissioners W. A. Stabs, and Bobby J. Burgin. OTHER CITY_OFFICIALS PRESENT: City Engineer H. Carlos Smith, Chief of Police H. F. Freeman, and City Clerk Marilyn Kelley. PRESIDING: Mayor Pfeiffer. + + + 1. The mfnutes of the regular meeting of December 18, 1967, were approved as written. + + + 2. A Public Hearing was held to consider the re-zoning of Lots 11 and 12, Block 5, Town of La Porte, from Class Residential, to Class B Commercial. Mr. 0. L. Davis spoke for his request, with no one speaking in oppositton. Commissioner Boyle made a motion, seconded by Commisstoner Compton, that Lots 11 and 12, Block 5, Town of La Porte, be re-zoned from Class Residential to Class B Commercial. Motion carried. + + + 3. The City Attorney was authorized to prepare a new Taxi Rate Ordinance. + + t 4. Mayor Pfeiffer stated that Ohmstead Machine works has requested that the City authorize the installation of two Mercury Vapor lights at their plant location. A motion was made by Commissioner Compton, and seconded by Commissioner Boyle, that the installation of two Mercury Vapor Lights at the Ohmstead Machine Works location, be authorized. Motion carried. + + + 5. The City Attorney stated that the owners of Lot 1, Block 186, Town of La Porte have found that the City has a Tax Title claim on the property, and they cannot sale the property until it it cleared. ,: 7r A motion was made by Commissioner Compton, and seconded by Commissioner Boyle, that the City Attorney be authorized to check out the property the City has claims on and if no objection advertise for bids to sale the property, and that the City Engineer prepare a map showing same. Motion carried. + + + 6. Commissioner Compton made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Boyle, that the Mayor and City Clerk be authorized to sign the Light Company easment for the construction of lines at the La Porte Municipal Airport. Motion carried. + + + '7. A motion was made by Commissioner Boyle, seconded by Commissioner Compton, and carried, that the Mayor and City Clerk be authorized to sign contracts with fiarrts County for Rrydio Rental and Prtsoner Meals. Motion carried. + + + 8. Commissioner Boyle made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Compton, and carried, that the following purchases be approved: Texas Crushed Stone .~ 655.50 W. S. Dickey Clay Pipe 9,009.60 + + + 9. A motion was made by CommissionerBoyle, and seconded by Commissioner Compton, that a police car be purchased either on bids taken at an earlier date, or the City Clerk re-advertise for bids, to be received at 4:30 P.M., February 2, 9968. Motion carried. + + + 90. Commissioner Compton made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Boyle, that the contract with B & B Maintenance Company be terminated under the terms of the contract, and that Ulbaldo Rodriquez be employed at a rate of .9.85 per hour.
