7. A motion was made by Commissioner Stabs, seconded by Commissioner
Boyle, and carried, that Ordinance No. 7S9 be passed on first
and final reading.
CAPTION:
AN ORDINANCE FOR THE PURPOSE OF REGULATING THE OPERATION OF
EMERGENCY AMBULANCES ON THE PUBLIC STREETS OF THE CITY OF
LA PORTS; REQUIRING AN EMERGENCY AMBULANCE PERMIT; PROVIDING
THAT APFL I CAT IONS FOR SUCH PER' ' l TS BE MADE TO THE C I TY CLERK OF
THE CITY OF LA PORTS; PROVIDING THAT ANY PERSON VIOLATING THE
TERMS OF THIS ORDINANCE SHALL BE DEEMED GUILTY OF A MISDEMEANOR
AND UPON CONV1CT10N SHALL BE FINED IN ANY SUM NCT TO EXCEED TWO
HUNDRED DOLLARS (,200.00) AND EACN DAY OF VIOLATION SHALL BE
DEEH;ED A SEPARATE OFFENSE; CGNTAINING A REPEALING PROVISION
AND A SEVERABILITY PROVISION; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
HEREOF.

2. Commissioner Boyle made a motion, seconded by Commissioner
Compton, that the City Clerk and Mayor write a letter to
the Harris County Commissioners Court, approving the request
from the Bonnor Estate, requesting that the East one-half of
Park Street, South of the Little Cedar Bayou be closed.
Motion carried.

3. A motion was made by Commissioner Boyle, and seconded by
Commissioner Burgin, that the Storm Drainage in Section
N'o. 1, Brookglen, be approved as presented. Motion carried.

99. A motion was made by Commissioner Stabs, and seconded by Commissioner
Boyle, and carried, that the foClowtng purchases be approved:

92. Commissioner Boyle made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Stabs,
that a light be installed in the climb chamber of the elevated
tank. Motion carried.

93. A motion was made by Commissioner Boyle, seconded by Commissioner
Stabs, that H. Carlos be authorized to attend A. W.W.A. Management
Seminiar, February 99 thru 23. Motion carried.

94. Commissioner Stabs made a motion, seconded by Commissioner
Compton, that Mrs. vela Stinson be given a Reserve Police
commission. Motion carried.

95. A motion was made by Commissioner Stabs, seconded by Commissioner
Burgin, that Marshall Dickerson be appointed Fire Marshall, effective
February 1, 9968, at a salary of X75.00 per month. Motion carried.

96. The City Engineer was authorized to get firm figures on the
construction of a basketball court on North Side.
