Pfeiffer, Commissioners Charles D. Boyle, Bobby J. Burgin, Lois J. Compton, and W. A. Stabs, Jr. MEMBERS OF THE COMM/SS/ON ABSENT: None OTHER CITY OFFICIALS PRESENT: Superintendent of Streets Clifford Ellis, Water Superintendent Lyman Cunningham, City Clerk Marilyn Kelley, City Attorney Knox W/. Askins, and Chief of Police H. F. Freeman. PRESIDING: Mayor Pfeiffer. + + + 1. The minutes of the regular meeting of February 5, 1968 were approved as presented. The minutes of the special meeting of February 12, 1968, were amended as follows: Item No. 3 - To Read - "The City Engineer recommended that the Commission approve the Storm Drainage in Section No. 1, Brookglen. He further stated that it does meet the standards set forth in the Ctty of La Porte Sub-division Ordinance. A motion was made by Commissioner Boyle, and seconded by Commissioner Burgin, that the Storm Drainage in Section No. 1, Brookglen, be af~proved as presented. Motion carried." + + + 2. Commissioner Stabs made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Boyle, that a public hearing to consider Mr. George Lunday's application for an Ambulance Operator's Permit, be held at 4:30 P.N,~., on Monday, February 26, 1968, at the City Hail. Motion carried. + + + 3. A motion was made by Commisstoner Boyle, a,d seconded by Commissioner Burgin, that James Whelan be authorized to attend Sewer Short School, March 11 thru 15, at Texas A & M University. Motion carried. t + + • s 4. The following bids for the repair of the 9967 Ford patrol car were received: Joe Camp, lnc. X545.00 Jay Marks Chevrolet, Inc. 486.75 Hunt's Paint and Body Shop 386.93 Commissioner Stabs made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Burgin, that low bidder, Hunt's Paint and Body Shop, be authorized to repair the car. Motion carried. + + + 5. A motion was made by Commissioner Burgin, and seconded by Commissioner Stabs, that Mustang Tractor Company be authorized to repair the 933 Catipillar Tractor for an estimated cost of $9,800.00. lglotion carried. + + + 6. The following bids were received for the construction of a basketball court on North Side: Hamilton Construction Company 40 X 40 $450.00 E. P. Brant ley 40 X 75 596.95 Commissioner Boyle recommended that the court be constructed so that it will have multi uses. Action was tabled. + + + 7. Commissioner Compton made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Stak;s, and carried, that the following purchases be approved: Certified Laboratories (Weed Killer) .~ 295.75 Bayou Calvert (Pipe) 442.44 Texas Crushed Stone (Stone) 423.00 Mustang Tractor Company 9,800.00 + + + 8. A motion was made by Commissioner Compton, and seconded by Commissioner Boyle, that a payment of .479.45 to Outdoor Equipment Company be authorized. Motion carried. + + + a • 9. Commissioner Stabs made a motion, seconaed by Commissioner Burgin, that Cectl Vanvuran Lightfoot, Jr., be given a Reserve Police Officer Commission.
