MEMBERS OF THE COMM/SS/ON PRESENT: Mayor H. P. Pfeiffer, Commissioners
W. A. Stabs, Jr., Lois J. Compton, Charles D. Boyle, and Bobby
J. Burgin.
MEMBERS OF THE COMMISSION ABSENT: None

9. A public hearing was held to consider thr re-zoning of certain
areas of La Porte. (See Exhibit No. 1).
Mrs. Lucille Sneed requested ti-;at the 5 acre tract she owns
in the Richard Pearsall Survey, be classified as "Industrial".
Mr. Joe A. Morris requested that all his property in the
Nichard Pearsall Survey be ctasstfted as "Industrial".
No other persons ask to speak either for or against any of the
proposed changes. The hearing was closed.
Commissioner Boyle made a motion-,, seconded by Commisstoner Stabs,
that Item #7 be tabled for verification of the request. Motion
canted.
A motion was made by Commissioner Stabs, and seconded by
Commissioner Burgin, that Jte~n #2 be re-classified from
"R2" to "R9". Commissioners Stabs, Boyle, and Burgin voted
"Yes", Commisstoner Compton voted "No". Motion carried.
Conmissioner Bur_ain made a motion, seconded by Commissioner
Boyle, that Item #3 be re-zoned from "C" to "R2". P~'otion
carried.
A motion was made by Commissioner Stabs, and seconded by
Commissioner Compton, that the request outlined in /tem
~4, be refused and that Tract 97 remain to "R9". Motion
carried.
A motion was made by Commissioner Compton and seconded by
Corrrnissioner Burgin, that Item #5 be re-classified from "R7"
to "C". Motion carried.

2. A motion was made by Commissioner Boyle, and seconded by
Com.~~issioner Compton, that the N~ayor be authorized to
precede with the purchase of lighting material to repair
the lights at the ballparks. Motion curried.

THERE BEING NO FURTHER BUSINESS AT HAND, THE MEETING WAS
ADJOURNED.

Re: Zoning Ordinance
Dear Commission Members:
The La Porte Planning and Zoning Commission recommends that
a Public Nearing be held, on the City's merit, to consider
the re-zoning of the following property:
9. Richard P~saii tract of 473.5 acres, lying
between Spencer Highway and Fairmont Parkway,
• the Humble pfpe line right-of-way and T&NO
RR Tracks, and Outlots 969 thru 970'/2, bordering
on Fairm,¢ont Parkway. From R9 to Industrial.
2. Blocks 754, 755, 756, 759, 758, 757, 790, 799,
792, and East half of 753, 760 and 789, Town
of La Porte, and West half of 25, 24, and 9,
Town of LaPorte. From R2 to R9.
3. Blocks 8S, 86, and 87, Bayfront, and 987, 9.88,
989, 98,,5, Town of La Porte, to make the Eastern
extent of District "C" at Carroll Street. From
Class °C" to R2.
4. Tract 97, Nebraska Syndicate. From R9 to "C".
5. Blocks 697, 698, and the West half of 696, Town
of La Porte. From R9 to "C".
