ATTEST
MARILYN KELLEY
CITY CLERK
Mr. Bob Burgin
210 South 4th. Street
La Porte, Texas
Dear Mr. Burgin;
722 South Idaho St.
La Porte, Texas
March q, 1968
Some time ago inquiry was made concerning a street
light at the corner of South Idahlo and Park Avenue., and
more recently your name was given as Council member to
receive this request, which is being made in the interest
of all of us on the 700 block of Idaho.
The street from Park Avenue to East F has been con-
sidered one block in the past, but as the thoroughfare
Prom Idaho to Sah Jacinto is being opened up, we are won
dering if this area will be considered two blocks in the
future and elegible for a corner light.
The need for it will become greater as traffic in-
creases on the street. Although Idaho has a marker at the
Park Ave. turn, it can izot be seen at night.. when one is.
meeting on-coming traffic at this point, and we do know of
several near-accidents at the turn. The street is bounded
by rather deep culverts at the intersection, as you may
be aware of, and,especially mn rain or fog, the turn is
hard tc see at night..
~rle shall appreciate your presenting: this request to
the Council at your convenience if you feel the need will
warrant. consideration - and believe we speak far our
neighbors to the north and south of us when we say that
the hearty thanks of all of us will go to the Council
should they see fit to install the light..
Respectfully submitted by;
