The minutes of the regular meeting of March 98, 9968, and the special meetinc7 of I"~arch 27, 9968, were approved as written. + + + 2. Commissioner Boyle made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Burgin, that the City Attorney be authorized to prepare an Ordinance appointing the following persons to the Planning and Zoning Commission: One Year Terms Jack Oliphant Bi11y Shipp Two Year Terms Walter Roberson Kenneth Adams Mrs. Lois Dixon Motion carried. + + + 3. A motion was made by Commisstoner Burgin, s?conded by Commtsstoner Boyle, that the City Engineer wrtte the Harris County Flood Control District, requesting that the drainage ditch on Adams and Utah Streets be cleaned out. Motion carried. + + + 4. Commisstoner Boyle made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Compton, that the Cify Engineer be authorized to build a pad and walk around the flag pole at the Civic Center. Motion carried. + + + • 5. Commissioner Compton made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Stabs, that the Mayor be authorized to secure bids for the purchase of outdoor light fixtures, for the Civic Center and Library. A motion was made by Commissioner Compton, seconded by Commissioner Stabs, and carried, that the following accounts payable be approved: Commercial Street Sweeping ,~ 190.67 Contractors Materials 556.35 W'. S. Dickey Pipe 1,298.44 Airport Lighting Company 2,700.00 + + + 7. Commissioner Burgin made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Boyle, that the purchase of two car loads of crushed stone from Texas Crushed Stone, be approved. Motion carried. + + + 8. The following bids were received for the purchase of 40,000 gallons of cut-back asphalt: Gulf States Asphalt OA 230 C.B. 6 - 8,000 Gallon Truck Lots 10.75¢ Humble Oil & Refining Company OA 230 C.B. M,C-1 9.70¢ Shell Otl Company EA 11 M - 10~ W/Water 2 M3 10.5¢ Commissioner Burgin made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Boyle, that the purchase of 6,000 gallons of MC1 C 9.7¢, from Humble Oil and Refining Company, be a>proved. Notion carried. + + + 9. A motion was made by Corrrmissioner Boyle, and seconded by Commissioner Compton, that the City Vacation Policy be amended to allow an employee to carry over. into a new colander year up toy but not in excess of one week, of vacation time.
