The minutes of the regular meeting of June 3, 9968 were amended as follows: ltem No. 7 - To Read -"Co,mmi_,sioner Compton made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Crofoot, that the Tax Assessor and Board of Equalization be instructed to place the property on the tax roll at a ratio of assessment of 80i~ of actual value, instead of 42%. Motion carried." + + + The minutes of the special meeting of June 93, 9968 were approved as written. + + + 2. Mr. Bernard A. McLoughlin, St. Marys Parish Council, presented a proposal for the relocation of the fire hydrant on Grandview Avenue. (See Exhibit No. 9). Church's expense $200.00. A motion was made by Commissioner Boyle, and seconded by Commissioner Crofoot, that the Commisston accept the proposal for the relocation for the fire hydrant, and consider the installation of another fire hydrant near the intersection of Leona and Circle Drive, and abandon the water line thru the church property, from Park Avenue to Grandview Avenue. Motion carried. + + + ~. Commissioner Burgin made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Commpton, that the City Accept the donation of Lot 25, Block 84, Town of La Porte, from Mrs. Roger A. Beane. Commissioner Boyle made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Burgin, that Ordinance No. 799 be passed on first and final reading. The City Attorney presented a proposed agreemeht to be entered into by and between City of La Porte and Harris County Water Control and /mprovement District nc. 56, relatino to the District furnishing water service to the airport for fire protection purposes and for use by tenants of the airport. (See Exhibit No. No. 2). • ~ ~ S Commissioner Boyle made a motion, ~conded by Commissioner Burgin, that the Nayor and City Clerk he authorized to enter into a contract with Harris County ~.'~'ater Control and Improvement District No. 56, and that the Director of Fublic works be authorized to install a fire hydrant, and that the City Attorney prepare an application form for water service. Motion carried. + + + 8. The City Attorney was instructed to prepare an Ordinance authorizing minimum fine fees. t + + 9. N motion was made by Commissioner Burgin, seconded by Commissioner Crofoot and carried, that Ordinance No. 792 be passed on first and final reading. Commissioner Compton made a motion, seconded by Commissioner ~rofoot, that RusselC Shepherd, W. A. Stabs, Jr., Jack Lawler, Tommy Moser, J. H. Smith, Bob White and L. R. Rigby be appointed as a Charter Committee to study and make recommendation for the revision of the present Charter. Motion carried. + + + 73. A motion was made by Commissioner Compton and seconded by Commissioner Crofoot, that Mr. Dan Kennedy be authortzed to attend Building Inspectors School fn Austin. Approximate cost ,900.00.
