A motion was made by Commissioner Boyle, and seconded by Commissioner Burgin, that Resolution No. 68-68 be passed on first and final reading. CAPT l ON: A RESOLUTION FAVGRING THE PASSA'~E OF Th'E X30 MILLION DOLLAR FLOOD CONTROL BOND ISSUE, APdD THE $39 MILLION DOLLAR ROAD BOND ISSUE, AT AN ELE':TlON TC BE HELD JULY 27, 9968. MOTION CARRIED. + + + 2. Commissioner Boyle made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Burgin, that I"~rs. Ed Marttn be _granted an extensior, for payment of X375.00 for Lot 6, Block 33, Town of La Porte. Time w~~s extended until 5:x;0 F.M., July 22, 9968, and if the payment has not been Trade the City Clerk is authorized to advertise for bids for the safe of said Cot, on July 25, 9968, iwht bids being taken as soon as is legally possible. A certified check in fhe amount of the bid is to accompany each bid. Commissioners Boyce, tsurgin, and Crofoot voted "yes", wtth Commissioner Co~~pton voting "no". Motion carried. + + + 3. The following bids were received on offtce space for the State Welfare Department: Decker McKin 799 West Main (3,200 Sq. Ft.) X640.00 per month. 795 West Mczin (700 Sq. Ft.) 940.00 per month. Both for 700.00 per month. (Ali utilities except telephone) Frank Baker 392 West Main (600 Sq. Ft) 900.00 per month. (Ail utilities except telephone) City furnish water and garbage 92.50 per month. • • Action was tabled for discussion with the State personnel. + + + 4. Mr. Marvin Joseph presented a proposal of Petro-Chemical Construction Cor~~pany, Inc., for their development of Blocks 617 and 618, Town of Lcz Porte, and stated that it will be necessary to request the closing of the streets and alleys. Mayor Pfeiffer explained the procedure for closing of streets and alleys. + + + 5. Mr. Jack Oliphant requested thaf the Voluntary Fire Department be allowed to build a lodge and meeting hall in Block 616, Town of La Porte. + + + 6. A motion was made by Commissioner Crofoot, seconded by Commissioner Compton, that a $7.50 warrant service fee be paid to the Police Officers for services made on their off duty time, but no payment be made for warrant service made on duty. Motion carried. + + + 7. Commissioner Crofoot made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Compton, that the purchase of two hand resucitors at an approximate cost of .118.00 be approved.
