MINUTES - SPECIAL MEETING
OF THE
LA PORTS CITY COMh,'1SSION, LA PORTS, TEXAS
May 26, 9969
7:00 P.M.
MEMBERS OF THE COMMISSION ATTENDING: Mayor H. P. Pfeiffer, Commissioners
Bobby J. 8vrgin, E, A. Thomas, Charles D. Boyle, and H. Gould
Crofoot.
MEMBERS OF THE COMMISSION ABSENT: None
OTHER CITY OFFICIALS PR ESENT: City Administrator P. V. Werner, City
Attorney Knox W. Askins, and City Clerk Marilyn Kelley.
PRESIDING: Mayor ~P'feiffer.

~. Commissioner Thomas made a motion, seconded by Commissioner
Boyle, that Southern Pacific Railroad Company be advised
that closing of the streets and alleys, that they have asked
to be closed, will not be beneficial fo La Porte, therefore
the request will be denied. Motion carried.

2. A motion was made by Commissioner Burgin, seconded by Commissioner
Crofoot and carried, that the City Administrator be authorized
to proceed with Phase 1 of the street improvement program.

3. The Commission received the following tabulation of bids
for the sale of a 9959 Booster Fire Truck, Less radio:
Lomax Volunteer Fire Department X600.00
City of Morgans Point 876.00
Commissioner Crofoot made a motion, seconded by Commissioner
Boyle, that the truck be sold to the high bidder, City of Morgans
Point, for ,x'876.00. Motion carried.

4. A motion was made by Commissioner Boyle, seconded by Commissioner
Burgin and carried, that the boys at Boys Harbor be allowed to
use the swimming pool for the same fee as last year, $25.00.
