LA PORTS CITY COMMISSION, LA FORTE, TEXAS
June 2, 1969

1. The minutes of the regular meeting held on May 19, 1969, were
amended as follows:
Item No. 5 - Changed from Ordinance No. 824 to No. 820.
The minutes of the special meeting held on May 26, 1969,
were approved as presented.

2. Commissioner Burgin made a motion, seconded by Commissioner
Crofoot, that the Mayor and City Clerk be authorized to
execute contracts vrith Edgar C. Barlow P.E., subject to
revision by the City Attorney, for approximately 7,000 Lin. Ft.
of street work. Motion carried.

3. A motion was made by Commfssioner Thomas, seconded by
Commissioner Burgin and carried, that upon receipt of a ;,3,000
escrow payment, the City administrator be authorized to proceed
with securing field notes and staking of the Airport road, and that
the City Attorney be authorized to draw up contracts with the
Tex Aero Corporation for Lease of 3 acres. Motion carried.

4. Commtssioner Thomas made a notion, seconded by Commissioner
Crofoot and carried, that Ordinance No. 821 $e approved on
first and final reading:

5. The Cify .°.ttorney presented an opinion on the George Lunday
fence request. (See Exhibit No. 1).
Commissioner Burgin made a motion, seconded by Commtsstonar
Crofoot and carried, that fhe Commission accept the recommendation
of the City Attorney and request that the fence be taken down
back to the building line. Motion carried.

6. A motion was made by Commissioner Burgin, seconded by Commissioner
Crofoot and carried, That Ordinance No. 822 be passed on first
and final reading;

7. Commissioner Burgin made a motion, seconded by Cornnaissioner
Thomas, thaf due to vandalism and loitering in the area, a
street light be placed on Circle Drive. (See Exhibit No. 2).
Motion carried.

8. A motion was made by Commissioner Thomas, seconded by Corrm.issioner
Burgin and carried, that the Commission authorize the purchase
of a six foot high fence for the Day Care Center, to fie installed
upon receipt of a lease agreement from the owner of the property,
and at such time as the Center is ready to operate.

9. Commissioner Thomas made a motion, seconded by Commissioner
Boyle, that independent haulers and others be advised that
they cannot dump at the City Dump after Juty 1, 1969. Mction
carried.

10. The Commission received a request that Kroger Store i~88
be designated as a collections agent.
The City Administrator recommended that the City not pay
for collection services, as it is a drawing card for the
store.
The City Administrator was requested to discuss the
payment of „gt.05 a stub with Minimax.

11. The Planning and 7_oning Commission recommended that the
City Commission hold a public hearing to consider fhe re-zoning
of Lots 1 thru 16, Block 134, Town of La Porte, from R1 Residential,
to allow for Townhouses. (See Exhibit No. 3)
A motion was made by Commissioner Boyle, seconded by Commissioner
Thomas and carried, that a public hearing be held at 7:00 P.M.,
June 23, 1969, to consider the request.
