OTHER CITY_OFFICALS PRESENTS City Administrator P.V.Werner City Clerk irginia Cline, City Attorney Knox Askins, Chief of Police H.F. Freeman and Superintendent of Public Works Dick Cunningham. PAES~~NG s Mayor Pfeiffer. 2. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of July ?, 1969 were approved as written. 2. Mayor Pfeiffer stated that due to the illness oP his Attorney, Mr. Sonny Applebe would not attend the meeting but requested that Mr. Applebes name be placed on the Agenda for the neat regular meeting. Also that Mr. Carlos Smith could not attend the meeting, but Mr. Smith would submit a report on the street work guarantee to the Commission. 3. City Attorney Knox Askins stated he is in the process of prepairing an agreement with Mr. Joe Camp for the closing of street and alleys between blocks 123 and 124. 4. Mr. Askins reported he had been in contact with mr. Eckhardt of the Houston Natural Gas Corp. and hoped to have something more to report at the next meeting on the franchise contract. 5. Commissioner Boyle made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Thomas that Ordinance No. 824 be passed. Motion carried. Ca bon s AN ~RDINANCE MAKING APPROPROATIONS FOR SUPPORT OF THE GOVERTMENT OF THE CITY OF LA PORTS, TEXAS, FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING JULY 1, 1969 and ENDING JUNE 30, 19~®, AND LEVYING A TAX OF $.92 ON EACH X100.00 of ASSESSED VALUE OF ALL REAL AND PERSONAL PROPERTY LOCATED WITHIN SAID C ITY . 6. Commissioner Boyle made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Burgin that the City advertise bids for one(1) Police Car and one(1) special Ambulance type vehicle. Motion carried. ?. Commissioner Hurgin made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Boyle that the radio in the dog catchers old truck be given to the Emergency Corps. Motion carried. l • • 8. Commissioner Thomas made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Burgin that the City buy two(2) typewriters for the Administrative Dept. Motion carried. 9. Mr. Werner stated that it would be necessary to hold a Public Hearing for the rezoning of Block 1189,Lots 6 through 27, La Porte, to change the zoning from "R-1" Residental to "C" Apartments and Commercial. ,2i THERE BEING NO FURTHER BUSINESS AT HAND THE MEETING WAS ADJOURNED.
