1. Minutes of the regular meettng of November 3, 1969, were Minutes
approved with the following amendment: Approved
ITEM NO. 3.- Amended to read - "Commissioner Thomas stated
all buf one trailer park was paying $1.50 per trailer, per
month, garbage fee.
Minutes of the special meefing of November 10, 1969 were
approved as presented.

2. Motion was made by Commissioner Burgin, seconded by Ordinance
Commissioner Crofoot that Ordinance No. 836 be adopted No. 836
as read. Motion carried. Adopted

IN BLOCKS SlX HUNDRED NINETEEN (619), SlX HUNDRED FORTY-
TWO (642), S/X HUNDRED FIFTY-FIVE (655), SlX HUNDRED
SEVENTY-EIGHT (678), AND A PORTION OF BLOCK SIX HUNDRED
NINETY-ONE (691), TOWN OF LA PORTS; AND ALSO VACATING,
ABANDONING AND CLOS/NG THOSE PORTIONS OF WEST AIyAMS STREET,
WEST TYLER STREET, MADISON STREET, NORTH"E" STREET AND
NORTH "F" STREET, ALSO KNOWN AS CREST LANE, BETWEEN THE
WEST RIGHT OF WAY LINE OF NORTH 19th STRt::ET, TOWN OF
LA PO.RTE; RESERVING EASEMENTS FOR HOUSTON NATURAL GAS

3. Motion was made by Commissioner Boy lei seconded by opies of the
Commissioner Burgin That the City purchase 100 copies ity Charter
of the City Charter at a cost of ,271.00. Motion carried.

4. Commissioner Thomas stated he had talked to Mr. Randolph
at Sylvan Beach Park about the garbage containers and a
decision was made to remove the containers from the park.
Mr. Werner was asked by the Mayor to write a letter to
Mr. Randolph stating the City's position on the containers
being removed.

5. Commissioner Thomas asked about a report and approval on
the budget. After a brief discussion, Mr. Werner stated
there would be a report in December from Ad-Valorem Records.

6. Mr. Ed Barlow, Consulting Engineer, reported he would meet
with the Texas Water Quality Board in Austin on November
26, 1969 and would have further recommendations on repair
work at the sewer plant by December 1, 1969.

7. Mr. Robert Krtpp appeared before the Commission in regards
to water rates for apartment units being so high. Mr. Kripp
stated La Porte was the only locality to figure sewer rates
on percentage basis and asked the Commission for some reitef
from the situatton.
Mayor Pfeiffer stated the Commission would take the request
under consideration.

8. Mr. M.G.Simon appeared before the Commission and stated
he is being charged both a residential and commercial rate
for water, garbage and sewer because he has a telephone
answering service in the residence.
Mayor Pfeiffer stated the Commission would make a study
of home-business situations.

9. Motion was made by Commissioner Crofoot, seconded by
Commissioner Burgin that Ordtnance No. 837 be adopted
as read. Motion carried.

FOR VEHICLES UNDER THE PROVISIONS OF ARTICLE 6701D, VERNON'S
TEXAS CIVIL STATUTES, UPON THE BAS/S OF AN ENGINEERING AND
TRAF/C INVESTIGATION, UPON CERTAIN STREETS AND HIGHWAYS, OR
PARTS THEREOF, WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF
LA P0'2TE, AS SET OUT 1N THIS ORDINANCE; AND PROV/DING A
PENALTY OF A FINE NOT TO EXCEED $200.00 FOR THE VIOLATION
OF THIS ORDINANCE.
