M. • MEMBERS OF THE COMMISSION PRESENT: Mayor H.P.Pfeiffer, Commissioners E.A. Thomas, Charles D. Boyle, H.Gould Crofoot and Bobby J. Burgin. MEMBERS OF THE COMMISSION ABSENT: None. OTHER CITY OFFICIALS PRESENT: P.V. Werner, Ctty Administrator, Virginia Cline, Cify Clerk and Robert Cline, Director of PubZtc Works. PRESIDING: Mayor Pfeiffer. + + + 1. "The City Commission hereby finds, determines, and declares that the subject matter of this meeting constitutes an emergency or urgent public necessity, and that notice of this meeting was posted by the City Clerk of the City of La Porte, before this meeting was convened or called to order." + + + r Members Presen Members Absent Other City Officials Present Presiding Emergency Meeting ccsl lea 2. Motion was made by Commissioner Crofoot, seconded by Commissioner Ord. 843 Thomas that Ordinance No. 843 be adopted as read. The motion dopted. carried by the following vote: AYES: Commissioners Thomas, Crofoot and Boyle. Nays: Commissioner Burgin. CAPTION: AN ORDINANCE DISANNEXING CERTAIN TERRITORY HERETOFORE ANNEXED TO THE CITY OF LA PORTS; CONTAINING A SAVINGS CLAUSE; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. + + + 3. Motion was made by Commissioner Boyle, seconded by Commissioner Thomas thaf Ordinance No. 844 be adopted as read. Motion carried by the following vote: AYES: Commissioners Boyle, Thomas Burgin and Crofoot. NAYS: None. CAPTION: AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING AND MAKING APPLICABLE TO THE CdTY OF LA PORTS THE PROVISIONS OF STATE LAW RELATING TO WORKMEN'S COMPENSATION INSURANCE FOR MUNICIPAL EMPLOYEES; PROVIDING THAT THE CITY OF LAf~RTE SHALL BE SELF-INSURING; PROVIDING THAT SAID WORKMEN'S CQMPENSATION INSURANCE SHALL BE APPLICABLE TO ALL EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY OF LA PORTS; 844 o ted. PROVIDING FOR NOTICES OF SUCH ACTION TO BE GIVEN; ESTABLISHING THE CITY OF LA PORTS WORKMEN'S COMPENSATION ACCOUNT; AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. • .. + + + Motion was made by Commisstoner Thomas, seconded by Comnisstoner Crofoot that the contractor picking up garbage at Fairmont Park be allowed to dump at the Ctty dump at no charge and for the City to assume the billing of the street lights at Fairmont Park.Motion carried by the following vote: AYES: Commissioners Boyle, Thomas, Burgin and Crofoot. NAYS: None. + + + 5. Motion was made by Commissioner Boyle, seconded by Commissioner Crofoot that Friday, December 26th be declared a holiday for alt ctty employees. Motion carried by the following vote: AYES: Commissioners Thomas, Boyle, Burgin and Crofoot. NAYS: None. THERE BEING NO FURTHER BUSINESS AT HAND, THE MEETING WAS ADJOURNED.
