MINUTES - SPECIAL MEETING
OF THE
LA PORTS CITY COMMISSION, LA PORTS, TEXAS
NOVEMBER 30, 1970
7:00 P. M.

MEMBERS OF THE COMMISSION PRESENT: Mayor H. Carlos Smith,
Commissioners I.J.Kibodeaux, Bobby J. Burgin, H. Gould Crofoot.
MEMBERS OF THE COMMISSION ABSENT: Commissioner E.A.Thomas.
OTHER CITY OFFICIALS PRESENT: P.V.Werner, City Administrator;
Virginia Cline, City Clerk and Knox Askins, City Attorney.
PRESIDING: Mayor Smith.

1. Mr. Robert Randolph, Attorney, and Mr. F. Carrington
Weems addressed the Commission in regards to the
City entering into an agreement with the Wharton
Weems Estate to defer annexation of approximately
600.70 acres of land out of the W. P. Harris Survey,
A-30 and the Johnson Hunter Survey, A-35 Harris
County Texas.
Motion by Comm. Crofoot, seconded by Comm. Burgin
that the City enter into an agreement to defer
annexation of the 600.70 acres of land owned by
the Wharton Weems Estate and that the Mayor be
authorized to sign, and the City Clerk to attest
the agreement, which is attached to and made a
part of these minutes. Motion carried by the
following vote:
AYES: Commissioners Kibodeaux, Burgin and Crofoot.
NAYS: None.
ABSENT: Commissioner Thomas.

that the meeting be adjourned. Motion carried.
The meeting of the City Commission adjourned at 8:20 p.m.
