Carlos Smith, Commissioners E. ,A. Thomas, I. J. Kibodeuax, G. E. Sampson and H. Gould Crofoot. MEMBERS OF THE COMMISSION ABSENT: None. OTHER CITY OFFICIALS PRESENT: Virginia Cline, City Clerk; Knox Askins, City Attorney; Jim Bradford, Administrative Aide and Robert Cline, Director of Public Works. • PRESIDING: Mayor Smith. + + + 1. Mayor Smith called ~e special meeting to order and stated the meeting had been called for annexation of two areas, of which a public hearing was held on November. 15, 1971 and Ordinances 899 and 900 had been passed declaring the City's intent to annex these areas. A petition containing twenty-two names of residents of the area objecting to the annexation was presented to the Commission. Motion by `'omm. 'l~homas, seconded by Comm. Crofoot to adopt Ordinance No. 905 as read. Motion carried by the following vote: AYES: Commissioners Thomas, Kibodeaux, Sampson and Crofoot. NAYS: None. • CAPTION: AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING ON FINAL READING THE • Special Meeting 11/29/71 - continued • HEREINAFTER DESCRIBED TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF LA PORTS, AND EXTENDING THE BOUNDARY LIMITS OF THE SAID CITY OF LA PORTS, TEXAS; PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE:. DATE HEREOF. + + + 2. Motion by Comm. Crofoot, seconded by Comm. Sampson to adopt Ordinance No. 906 as read. Motion carried by the following vote: AYES: Commissioners Thomas, Kibodeaux, Sampson and Crofoot. NAYS: None. CAPTION: AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING ON FINAL READING THE HEREINAFTER DESCRIBED TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF LA PORTS, AND EXTENDING THE BOUNDARY LIMITS OF THE SAID CITY OF LA PORTS, TEXAS; • PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. + + + 3. Motion by Comm. Crofoot, seconded by Comm. Sampson that the meeting be adjourned. Motion carried. The meeting of the City Commission was adjourned at 7:40 P.M.
