Thomas, Commissioners C. D. Christensen, I. J. Kibodeaux, G. E. Sampson and C. D. Boyle. MEMBERS OF THE COMMISSION ABSENT: None. OTHER CITY OFFICIALS PRESENT: Larry L. Broussard, Director of Finance; Virginia Cline, City Clerk; Knox Askins, City Attorney; and H. F. Freeman, Chief of Police. MEMBERS OF THE PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION PRESENT: Walter Roberson, Mrs. Lois Compton, Dallas Aker and Bill Love. PRESIDING: Mayor Thomas. + + + Invocation was offered by Commissioner Boyle. 1. Mayor Thomas asked if there was anyone present Bids called wishing to submit a bid for the fire truck, and for on fire there being none, declared the bids closed. truck Mr. Askins read the bids received for tabulation for one (1) new fire truck. • Motion by Comm. Boyle, seconded by Comm. Sampson Bids Recd to accept the bids received for tabulation, a accepted for copy of which is attached to and made a part of tabulation these minutes. Public Hearing to consider Lots 11, 12, 13 and 14 in Residential to Commercial. the rezoning of Block 1373 from Mayor Thomas stated the owner of lots 11, 12, 13 and 14 in Block 1373 has requested the rezoning of this property from Residen- tial to Commercial so that he could build boat storage facilities. He asked if there was anyone opposed to the rezoning that would like to speak. There being none, he asked if there was anyone to speak for the re- zoning and there being none, declared the public hearing closed. Walter Roberson, Chairman of the Planning • and Zoning presented their recommendation that the property be rezoned from Residen- tial to Commercial. Motion by Comm. Kibodeuax, seconded by Comm. Sampson to approve the rezoning of lots 11, 12, 13 and 14 in Block 1373 from Residential to Commerical. Motion carried by the following vote: AYES: Commissioners Christensen, Kibodeaux, Sampson and Boyle. NAYS: None + + + 3. Minutes of Kibodeaux to approve the minutes of the previous previous meeting of February 22, 1973 as presented. meeting appro~aed Motion carried by the following vote: AYES: Commissioners Christensen, Kibodeaux, Sampson and Boyle. NAYS: None. + + + 5. Motion by Comm. Kibodeaux, seconded by Comm. Accounts payable Christensen to approve the accounts payable approved as presented, with the deletion of Air Vent Awning Companys billin the amount of $1,933.00 and adding the bill from La Porte Carpet in the amount of $1,575.00. Motion carried by the following vote: AYES: Commissioners Christensen, Kibodeaux, Sampson and Boyle. • NAYS: None. + + + 6. Motion by Comm. Christensen, seconded by Comm. NAYS: None. CAPTION: AN ORDINANCE CHANGING THE NAME OF LAKE TRAIL DRIVE, A PUBLIC STREET IN THE CITY OF LA PORTE TO FARRINGTON BOULEVARD; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. + + + • • Regular Meeting 3/5/73 - continued 7. Sampson to ratify approval to advertise for and accept bids on March 19, 1973 at 7:00 p.m., for equipment and improvements to Central Park and the Mini Bike Park. Motion carried by the following vote: AYES: Commissioners Christensen,Kibodeuax, Sampson and Boyle. NAYS: None. + + + • 8. Motion by Comm. Kibodeaux, seconded by Comm. Boyle that Mr. Joe Gomer and Mrs. Eugene Edmonds be appointed to serve as members to the Library Board for a period of two years.
