LA PORTE CITY COMMISSION, LA PORTE, TEXAS
APRIL 2, 1973
7:00 P.M.
MEMBERS OF THE COMMISSION PRESENT: Mayor E. A. Thomas,
Commissioners C. D. Christensen, I. J. Kibodeaux,
G. E. Sampson and C. D. Boyle.
MEMBERS OF THE COMMISSION ABSENT: None.
OTHER CITY OFFICIALS PRESENT: Larry L. Broussard, Director
of Finance; Virginia Cline, City Clerk; Knox Askins, City
Attorney and H. F. Freeman, Chief of Police.

Invocation was offered by Commissioner Kibodeaux.
1. Motion by Comm. Kibodeaux, seconded by Comm.
Boyle to approve the minutes of the previous
meeting of March 19, 1973 as presented. Motion
carried by the following vote:
AYES: Commissioners Christensen, Kibodeaux,
Sampson and Boyle.

2. Motion by Comm. Kibodeaux, seconded by Comm. Accounts payable

3. Mr. Ed Hickman, Safti-Glo Signs, addressed the Safty signs
Commission in regards to the City participating approved
in a safty sign program. He stated the Bayshore
National Bank would purchase twenty-five (25) of
the signs, which he displayed, and explained the
signs were designed for the safety of children.
He stated the only cost to the City would be the
installation of the signs.
Motion by Comm. Kibodeaux, seconded by Comm.
Boyle that the Chief of Police and the Director
of Public Works be authorized to approve the
program and the installation of the signs.

4. Motion by Comm. Kibodeaux, seconded by Comm. Bids for water
Sampson to approve advertising for and accepting and sewer lines
bids on April 26, 1973 for water and sewer to Northside
extensions to the Northside. Motion carried
by the following vote:
AYES: Commissioners Christensen, Kibodeaux,
Sampson and Boyle.
NAYS: None.

5. Motion by Comm. Christensen, seconded by Comm. Bid awarded for
• Kibodeaux to ratify awarding the bid for the fence around
Mini-Bike Park fence to the lowest bidder, Wolfe Mini-Bike Park
Construction Company in the amount of $5,755.60.

Kibodeaux to ratify awarding the bid for Central Central Park
Park improvements to the lowest bidder, Wolfe improvements
Construction Company in the amount of $21,456.00. (tennis courts)

OF WEST "J" STREET, AND THE NORTH RIGHT-OF-WAY
LINE OF WEST "K" STREET, AND BETWEEN BLOCKS
ELEVEN HUNDRED EIGHT (1108) AND ELEVEN HUNDRED

9. Motion by Comm. Kibodeaux, seconded by Comm. pay increase for
Christensen to approve paying the election Election clerks
judge and clerks $2.00 per hour for thirteen and Judge
(13) hours, with the election judge receiving
an additional $5.00 for picking up and delivering
the supplies. Motion carried by the following
