Commissioners Bill Love, Virginia Cline, and C. D. Boyle.

3. APPROVAL OF MINUTES - REGULAR MEETING - JANUARY 5, 1976 -
Motion by Commissioner Boyle, seconded by Commissioner Love
to approve the minutes of the regular meeting of January 5,
1976, as presented. Motion carried by the following vote r
AYES: Commissioners Love, Cline, and Boyle.
NAYS:. None.

4. APPROVAL OF ACCOUNTS PAYABLE - Motion by Commissioner Boyle,
seconded by Commissioner Cline to approve the accounts payable
as presented. Motion carried by the following vote:
AYES: Commissioners Love, Cline, and Boyle.

A copy is attached and made a part of these minutes.

5. VISITORS WISHING TO ADDRESS THE COMMISSION - The Mayor Pro-
Tem asked if the meeting had been posted according to law?
The City Clerk affirmed.
There were no visitors wishing to address the Commission.

6. CONSIDER AWARDING BID FOR TRUCKS FOR PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT
Motion by Commissioner Cline, seconded by Commissioner Boyle
to accept the recommendation of the Public Works Director and
award the bid for 1976 Truck and Dump Body to Lumus Baytown
Dodge in the amount of $8,465.43. Motion carried by the
following vote:
AYES: Commissioners Love, Cline, and Boyle.
NAYS: None.

7. DISCUSS LICENSING OF PEST CONTROL COMPANIES - After a
brief discussion, motion by Commissioner Boyle, seconded
Commissioner Cline, to authorize the City Attorney to
present a recommendation to the Commission after further
study. Motion carried by the following vote:
AYES.: Commissioners Love, Cline, and Boyle.
NAYS: None.

8. CONSIDER APPROVING ORDINANCE NO. 1028 CALLING AN ELECTION

After the proposed ordinance was read in full, motion by
Commissioner Boyle, seconded by Commissioner Love to adopt
Ordinance No. 1028, after adding Absentee voting would be
on Saturdays from 10:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M.. Motion carried
by the following vote:
AYES: Commissioners Love, Cline, and Boyle.
NAYS: None.
• CAPTION: AN ORDINANCE CALLING THE REGULAR ANNUAL ELECTION
OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE; CALLING A RUN-OFF ELECTION, IF
NECESSARY; DESIGNATING AN ELECTION PRECINCT AND A POLLING
PLACE; PROVIDING FOR THE USE OF VOTING MACHINES; APPOINTING
ELECTION OFFICIALS; PROVIDING FOR METHOD AND DATES OF ABSENTEE
VOTING; PROVIDING FOR RETURN AND CANVASS OF VOTES OF SAID
ELECTION; PROVIDING FOR NOTICE; PROVIDING FOR FILING DEADLINE

9. AUDIT REPORT FROM AUDITOR - Mr. Eugene Hovey, C.P.A.,
902 West Main, was recognized and presented copies of
the Annual Audit Report for the fiscal year ending
September 30, 1975.

9. AUDIT REPORT FROM AUDITOR (Continued)
Mr. Hovey gave a recap of all City funds. He stated in
his opinion that the balance sheets and the related
statements of changes in the balances of the funds listed
presented fairly the financial position of the City of
La Porte, Texas, as of September 30, 1975, and the results
of its operation for the fiscal year then ended, in
conformity with generally accepted accounting principles
as applied to municipalities on a modified accrual basis.

Motion by Commissioner Love, seconded by Commissioner Cline
to accept the Audit for the fiscal year ending September 30,
1975. Motion carried by the following vote:
AYES: Commissioners Love, Cline, and Boyle.
NAYS: None.

• 10. RATIFY AUTHORIZING MAYOR PRO-TEM TO SIGN ADDENDUM NO. I
FOR B.O.R. GRANT - Motion by Commissioner Love, seconded
by Commissioner Cline to ratify authorizing the Mayor Pro-
Tem to sign Addendum No. I for the B.O.R. Grant. A copy
of the Addendum is attached and made a part of these minutes.
Motion carried by the following vote:
AYES: Commissioners Love, Cline, and Boyle.
NAYS: None.

11. CONSIDER APPROVING ESTIMATE NO. 5 - SMITH ENGINEERING COMPANY -
IN THE AMOUNT OF $13,932.00 FOR ADDITIONS AND ALTERATIONS TO
THE LIBRARY - Motion by Commissioner Love, seconded by
Commissioner Boyle to approve Estimate No. 5 to Smith Engineering
Company in the amount of $13,932.00. A copy is attached and
made a part of these minutes. Motion carried by the following
vote:
AYES: Commissioners Love, Cline, and Boyle.
NAYS: None.

13. DISCUSSION OF DEPARTMENT PROJECTS -

1975 CAB AND CHASSIS TRUCK - After a brief discussion,
mota.on by Commissioner Love, seconded by Commissioner
Boyle to authorize the purchase of a 1975 cab and chassis
Chevrolet truck from Jay Marks Chevrolet in the amount of
$6,592.00, since no bids were received.. Motion carried
by the following vote:
AYES: Commissioners Love, Cline, and Boyle.
NAYS: None.

14. EXECUTIVE SESSION - V.A.T.S. - ARTICLE 6252-17, SECTION 2 (G) -
Motion by Commissioner Cline, seconded by Commissioner Love
to recess to go into Executive Session. Motion carried by
the following vote:

NAYS: None.
