PROPOSAL TO MAKE APPLICATION FOR AN AIRPORT MASTER PLANNING STUDY FOR THE CITY
OF LA PORTE
We have been told by the Federal Aviation Administration that the City needs
badly to proceed with a Master Planning Study as the next step in development
of La Porte Municipal Airport. The prime reason for this is that further
applications for construction grants (runway extension, adding navigational
aids, etc.) will probably not be approved until such a study is on file with
FAA.
Making application is a relatively simple matter of completing some standard
FAA forms. The information provided on the forms includes an estimate of the
cost and duration of the study, a breakdown of the budget for the cost of the
study, a detailed description of the proposed study, and assurances from the
City that all work done under the grant shall comply with all Civil Rights Acts,
. the Hatch Act and certain other federal regulations.
The objectives of the study to be made under the grant are several, and include
prepartion of a graphical Master Plan of the ultimate airport development;
establishment of a priority schedule for various phases of immediate and future
construction of the airport; a description of the concepts and alternatives
which were considered in formulating the plan; and finally, the preparation
and submission of a comprehensive report setting forth the results of the study.
Although these objectives appear fairly concise, the FAA requires considerable
detail in their development. It is estimated that the cost of the study will
be in the neighborhood of $20,000.00 with the exact figure to be set by contract
and stated in the grant application. The study will take approximately 9 months
to complete and would be funded 90% by FAA and 10% by the City.
If the City wishes to have our firm perform the study, a simple contract will
be required by FAA to establish the conditions to be met by both parties.
A copy of such a contract is, attached for your review. We can begin immediat-

Genro Waste Systems would like to propose to the
City of La Porte than the household trash collection
of the new subdivision adjacent to Fairmont Park and
• the new housing area, located. on Spencer Hwy., being
built by Whipple Homes, to be contracted to Genro Waste
Systems. Thus alleviating the necessity for the City
of La Porte to reschedule or purchase additional equip-
ment to handle this area..
Genro Waste Systems is presently serving the Fair-
mont Park Subdivision. It would not be any problem to
expand our services to include these existing and pro-
posed new homes.
Genro Waste Systems is open to discussion on such
a Contract. Type of collection can be backdoor to keep
In line with Fairmont Park or curb service to keep in
line with regular city type collection. Price per home
will also be left open to discussion of said proposal.
