THE PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION
JANUARY 17, 1979
7:00 P.M.
MEMBERS OF THE COMMISSION PRESENT: Mayor J. J. Meza;
Commissioners John Tomerlin, I. J. Kibodeaux, Virginia Cline, and
Tom C. Simons.
MEMBERS OF THE COMMISSION ABSENT: None.
OTHER CITY OFFICIALS PRESENT: J. R. Hudgens, City Administrator;
Knox Askins, City Attorney; H. F. Freeman, Chief of Police;
• Paul Hickenbottom, Fire Inspector; Stan Sherwood, Parks & Recreation
Director.
OTHER CITY OFFICIALS ABSENT: Margie Goyen, City Clerk; Joe Sease,
Fire Chief; D. R. McLaughlin, Fire Marshal, R. L. Caldwell, Acting

PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION MEMBERS: Pat Muston, Chairman;

1. CALL TO ORDER - Mayor Meza called the joint public hearing

2. CONSIDER REZONING BLOCK 831, TQWN OF LA PORTE, HARRIS COUNTY,
TEXAS, FROM RESIDENTIAL - 2 'TO "C" APAR NT ANU COMMERCIAL
DISTRICT - The City Administrator located the b ock of property
under consideration for rezoning and further stated that the
Planning and Zoning Commission had recommended that this property
be rezoned.
Mr. Eric Lowenthal, 4141 N. Braeswood Blvd., Houston, was
recognized and spoke in favor of the rezoning.
There was a brief discussion regarding the development of
property around Block 831.
Mayor Meza asked if there was anyone desiring to speak further
for the rezoning?
Mayor Meza asked if there was anyone desiring to speak against
the rezoning? There was no one.
